It was a rainy day and was craving something hearty.. I always pass by this place and decided to give it a shot Was greeted with a warm hello and was asked if I wanted anything in particular and I went for the pastrami, he recommended it on an onion roll and the works(onions, Lettuce, tomato, mustard) and I went with pepper jack cheese .. this sandwich was massive, and toasted to perfection (you can get it cold if you wanted to too) the pastrami was loaded but not too loaded to where it overpowered the other ingredients (and it wasn't too salty) and the onion roll and mustard complimented the pastrami perfectly Notes: it's adjacent to the liquor store (hence the name) so when your order is taken you take your ticket and pay next door at the cashier and then wait for your name to be called, maybe grab some chips and a drink with your sandwich too lol I grabbed some venison jerky because it caught my eyeThere's parking right front but it's 15min only just for pickup maybe There's also ace parking next to it and across at CAPS pizzaIt was raining so the chairs were stacked but I've seen people sit outside and eat on green chairs and tables Definitely will return here! the price was more thank reasonable for this quality sandwich

Great sandwich and real quick service. I got the ABC sandwich. Lots of cheese, bacon and avocado. Real good.

Mixons keeps it simple. Order a sandwich from the menu, and they'll make it there while you watch. I've never dined inside here, so I won't review the service while eating here. But the takeout is very fast and efficient. This is my third sandwich I've purchased, and each time the preparer used fresh gloves. Very good policy for cleanliness. Very tasty, and error free

Gave this place a go as it's walking distance from my work. The people are pretty friendly overall, and while I enjoyed my first sandwich here the rest of my attempts to patronize this business have gone poorly. One time I requested no cheese, received my order with cheese and was told they were out of meatballs so I was stuck with it. Okay, not a big deal, but then when I ate it the meatballs were cold like they'd just been removed from the fridge. Tried going again and they've been out of meatballs since. Coworkers told me they're always out of something, too, so it seems to be an inventory issue. Hard to understand how they're out of meatballs on Thursday when they order on Tuesdays apparently.

The sandwiches are huge, and delicious. You practically have to unhinge your jaw to eat it. And for the price, that's a steal.

Don't let the rough putter shell of this place fool you. hands down the best deli sandwiches in town. Generous with the meat, cut the fresh avocado in front of you for every sandwich, bread is always fresh and they are fast, even during the Downtown lunch rush. less than ten bucks gets you a turkey cheese sandwich loaded with avocado, bacon (properly cooked) and fresh sprouts. They aren't open past 3 or on weekends, so get there early!

I love these people! Seniors at the Tower, need them. Want a super great sandwich, or breakfast Burrito, or maybe a reasonable bottle if Wine; this is the place! Need Coffee to go? They always have it hot & ready! Maybe you have a craving for a TV snack & a Movie to go. They got ya covered. Nice conversation & a smile, is Free! Love these people!

My favorite sandwich is the turkey/Swiss cheese/extras on dark/light pumpernickel bread. The roast beef is Devine.All of Mixon has to offer at the deli is healthy,tasty,and well worth the drive. Lisa C.

Great little dive; don't let the exterior scare you. Found Mixon's 6 years ago on a work trip to San Diego and it was a must stop on this recent visit. The deli is in the back of the store and the sandwiches are made fresh while you wait. Can't go wrong with The Construction, which has turkey, cheddar, bacon, avocado, and sprouts on your choice of bread. It's a sandwich that would make Dagwood proud. Light eaters could easily split it, but I don't fit that category! There are tables in a room opposite the store portion if you want to eat it there. The staff was super friendly.

I was told this place was good so I thought I would try it out. Figured you can't go wrong with a bacon, lettuce, avocado and tomato sandwich. Guess I was wrong. I said no cheese because who puts cheese on a BLAT! However, they missed that memo and got nasty sliced cheese on my sandwich. Not to mention way too much Mayo that was mixed in with the clobbered mashed avocado. I figured it would be fresh sliced avocado, another fail. Next was the bacon. I didn't spend $11 for microwavable bacon. Overall NOT was I expected and will not return.
