This is, to use a word which has gained favor in The New York Times and among the intelligenstia, followers and their wannabes, this is a "boutique" that "curates" for serious foodies.Beautiful inside, it appears to be a Manhattan art gallery rather than an Asian grocery.I didn't know that their "chili crisp" tastings (that I was apprised of, again, via the NY Times) were $10 but I went ahead and bought an 8 oz. jar after sampling eight or so (half teaspoons each) varieties.A pleasant experience, I wanted to kill time in Belltown that afternoon. But $16 is pretty steep. But it was for "the experience," right? And the "Community" could use support? But it seemed a bit "unreal," knowing in the back of my mind, that something closer to "The Real Thing" existed a mile south, in the ID.

This spot echoes the former Hyphen, however, there are more products to check out with a updated layout. After seeing the KING5 feature on Mixed Pantry, I made sure to stop by on 2/18/24. I enjoyed going through each aisle and shelf. I ended up buying more sisig mix, two bags of Sugimoto tea powder (hojicha and genmaicha), and a jar of Dan Dan Sauce. Takeshi "Tak" Kunimune, owner of Mixed Pantry, sure has upbeat presence and effervescence. One feels welcomed while wandering through the shop. His enthusiasm and knowledge base demonstrates that the featured products have been carefully selected, vetted and of excellent quality. Great find in Seattle's Belltown neighborhood!

A gem for interesting condiments, spreads, tea, etc... made by Asians. I never would have thought sampling different condiments can be so fun and informative.

Love that Hyphen lives in in two businesses. Was finally able to check out Mixed Pantry this weekend. Have been wanting to visit since they opened. Tak makes you feel right at home and is so knowledgeable about the ingredients he sells. So nice to have a place to get imported speciality items and other goods from Asian American companies across the US.Love look of the space, open and lots of natural lighting. It's always wasy to find items they're never overly crowded sheIves. I always walk out with a purchase this time it was with curry popcorn and a sweet yuzu vinegar. Looking forward to my next visit have been introduced to so many products here.

We love this place! We bought so many of our Christmas gifts here. The guy who owns this place is such a friendly dude. We live in the area and go often. It's a lot of Asian American snacks and goods. He'll offer samples and talk you through his favorite products or what he'll think you like! He's a super stand up dude and definitely feels like a pillar of the downtown community. It's really clean and organized in there. Definitely stop by and check it out!

This place is so cool - incredibly unique and definitely worth a stop by! The owner is super friendly and incredibly knowledgeable about all the products he stocks in his shop. He curates the best of the best in his store and allows you to sample different things so you know you'll like the product before you commit to buying a whole jar of product.Mixed Pantry feels like a Disneyland for adults who love spices and delicious food! There's a really high quality feel to all the products that are in there and I love that there's a nice space for different niche products now. I am so happy this store exists and I can't wait to stop by again :)

Mixed Pantry is THE BEST. Owner Tak's passion for sharing great asian flavor finds is one of the most compelling reasons to stop by. Tak is so knowledgeable about the products he carries. Could've spent a couple hours there just tasting the chili oils alone. Couldn't recommend this place enough - so niche, so aesthetic, so delicious. Excited to keep coming back to see all the new pantry finds!

Hyphen (former name) lives on! Amazing array of pan-Asian sauces, condiments, ingredients, candy, snacks. Lots of the latest Cutting Edge flavors that your friends probably don't have. So many chili crisps, jams, chutneys, honeys... And the best thing is that you can taste pretty much all of them. Your kitchen easily needs three or more of these condiments, but better yet find the perfect unique gift for when you visit a friend -- much more creative then a bottle of wine. Flavors of Japan, Korea, China, Thailand, Vietnam, indonesia, and India are on the shelves!

An amazing shop in Belltown for sauces, condiments, ingredients, candy, snacks, and more! The modern atmosphere and friendly service makes this place even more amazing. There are a variety of chili crisps, jams, and soy sauces you can try as well. Opted in for the soy sauce and chili crisp tastings which are perfect for those who are wanting to broaden their choices and explore different flavors. The owner Tak is very knowledgeable on the products and can make suggestions to find the right sauce for you. After going through the tastings, I was able to select several items to take home to kick my dishes up a notch. So grab a few staples or try a tasting or two. Don't miss out on this unique selection of items imported from Asia or created by AAPI communities across various states. This is definitely a store you want to stop by and check out.
