Tuna melt. Execution slightly off- the bread is cold/dry - they don't grill the sandwich at once. Still good cause the tuna is fresh.

My favorite spot in San Diego! I come here everytime I visit the area because I'm always craving the seafood stew. The wait can be a little long sometimes but it's so worth it. It's a relatively small spot but there's outdoor counter seating that overlooks the water. It's the most beautiful way to enjoy a meal on a sunny day. This time we ordered the seafood stew, crab poutine, and a bunch of tacos. Everything was delicious! The tacos we enjoyed the most were the halibut, yellowtail, and fried cod. All the seafood is so fresh and generously portioned. My stew had so much variety and the broth is the best I've ever had. The prices are also super reasonable so I think this is one of the best value spots for seafood!

Delicious fish tacos here. I ordered two of them before heading back to Georgia and glad we stopped by here. Their food is great and service is friendly. Son ordered the grilled octopus which he enjoyed also. Try the limeade! Ambiance is great and location is excellent. Parking is a little tricky so get there early to find a spot.4.5 stars rounded up!

I was looking for a casual bite to eat in the water before heading to the airport. Mitch's was the perfect place with a variety of fresh, daily catch items on the menu. The service was similar to fast casual, you walk up, order, grab your number and seat yourself. When your order is ready they bring it to you. Water is self serve at the counter. Entire staff was friendly and attentive. I had the fresh grilled halibut tacos. They came with beans, and chips and salsa. The fish was grilled perfectly, great portions on the tacos, seasoning was on point and the garnish was just right for the amount of fish. The beans had a little kick of flavor, those and the homemade salsa and chips were the perfect sides. The oysters were fresh, cocktail sauce was flavorful and they were gone so fast. Overall a great stop for great food. Fast service. Great location. Easy to find parking. Close to the airport.

My friend and I came to Mitch's Seafood in Point Loma right at the beginning of a weekday lunch hour. The line can quickly grow so we wanted to beat the crowd. There was seating inside the shack and outside on the rear deck overlooking the water. The seats filled up as noontime arrived when many nearby local folks reached their meal break from work.I was not a fan of the parking situation as it's tough to find a curbside spot on a nearby side street. If you pull into the adjacent pay lot outside of the building, then a validated ticket was only good for one hour. In my opinion, a stamp should be good for up to two hours if you are going to spend time dining and enjoying the dockside views. The menu board was posted on the wall to the right of the ordering line. I picked three of the tacos for my meal... halibut, octopus, and yellowtail. For seafood and the size of each taco, the price was a pretty good deal. I do think the tortillas needed improvement though as they were dry and stale compared to what you can get at some local taco shops. The halibut stood out as the best protein because the flesh had retained the most moisture.I don't recall what I purchased at previous visits here, but I think a sandwich, plate, or entree of some type would be my future choice instead of the tacos. I gave our dining experience at Mitch's Seafood a 3.5 star rating.

My companion has been here several times and took me. As we drove up there was a long line, which appears to be the normal. He parked in the world' most confusing park lot for the amount of cars. They have a QR code to the menu outside. Mitch's has many of options and the line moves fast. There isn't a ton of space but many seats overlook the harbors. You get a meal and a show with the birds and boats. The menu online doesn't have prices as it's market price. The place isn't cheap but it not overpriced. They also have some nice craft beers. The Campechana was amazing, like a ceviche but better! Baja Style Cocktail with, Shrimp, Dungeness Crab, Octopus, Oyster, Salsa Fresca, Cocktail Sauce, Lime Juice, Clamato. Served With Housemade Tortilla Chips. The Grilled Fish Sandwich has a choice of several daily fish. We got the yellowtail- very good. The Fisherman's Stew was tomato based, with octopus, shrimp, clams, calamari, and muscles. At first I was not sure about this dish. It was primarily tomato and celery. Then once I added lemon everything popped. And as I ate, I enjoyed it more and more. The shrimp was the highlight!

We had some good food and enjoyed the view, thought it was very crowded. You order at the counter and then find seating and squeeze in. Beer selection is decent too.

Great suggestion after whale watching tour. Mixed seafood huge and tasty. Crab cake and fried shrimp extra good. Limeades really hit the spot--it's super hot here right now. Shrimp cocktail was not what one expects (should have been given a heads up) it was more like bits of shrimp in a salsa. Served with fresh tortilla chips but I'm partial to old style. Easy to get seat even tho it didn't seem like it would be when we entered restaurant

My boyfriend and I decided to grab fish n' chips after eating foo foo food (overpriced, small portion, high restaurant). We decided to eat our food in the car since there was no seating. We loved the food!! We got 3 pieces of fish, lightly battered. The breading didn't immediately fall apart either. The tartar sauce was great. The fries were fresh and not soggy or old. The coleslaw was even amazing! We returned the next morning for lunch, after checking out of our hotel. We tried the crab cakes. They were huge! My boyfriend said the crab cakes were good. The restaurant is behind a tackle store, almost missed it. There are tables inside, outside there is a bar top seating looking out over the bay. The service was quick and polite. The place was constantly busy, the line moved fast though. I'd definitely come back to San Diego just for this place!

Came on a weekday at lunch and it was busy. What a great place to have lunch, right on the water, you can't beat the view. I ordered Mahi Mahi tacos and they did not disappoint. The tacos are huge, so when you order keep that in mind. Only disappointment was the Caesar salad, wasn't bad, just wasn't good. Must try place.
