The food here was great, and I would return. It seems like they really know Italian food, more than you'd think from the cutesy name and "hotel restaurant" status it occupies. At first, it was a bit annoying. They are understaffed, and it is apparent. One host (?) was going over a takeout order with a woman for 5-10 minutes without acknowledging our party or anyone behind us. I always find waiting in line for a while just for host stand acknowledgement a bit off-putting. Still, when the host got to us, he was polite and sat us right away without us needing reservations.I think the service was a bit uneven. My husband ordered his drink while I was in the bathroom, so it certainly makes sense that he got it first. Still, after I ordered mine, it took about 10-15 minutes (the women next to us seemed to get their main courses 15ish minutes apart from each other too, which is unfortunate). It is definitely a creative drink, with honey, lemon, and other ingredients I forgot, plus a sage leaf to garnish! But it tasted a bit strange to me, almost like dish cleaning solution. Still, taste is subjective, especially with cocktails, so you might enjoy it and find my opinion to be "out there." BTW, the bathrooms are indeed outside of the restaurant and upstairs, then in a badly lit second floor without much signage. It's not great!I'm still giving four stars because the food is amazing!!! The Caesar salad was a hit, with a bit of celery for some nice texture and variety (I can't believe we ordered it so soon after the Ides of March...have we no shame?!?). The pappardelle Bolognese was tremendously good, on par with what I've had in Italy. It smelled amazing, was in a sensible portion, and so packed with flavor. I think their pasta dishes in general are supposed to be terrific! And I think the waiter noticed how uneven the pacing had been for our table and others, so the main course turnaround was surprisingly quick. This is overall a great option in the Loop without being touristy or overly pretentious - just well made food! :)

Looking for a breakfast spot near our hotel and discovered Miss Ricky's on YELP. The place was so nice in ambiance, seating and helpful wait staff, we ate here twice in 3 days (would have been 3 if I'd discovered it on the first day!) I had the BEST LOX I've ever eaten- so buttery and soft in texture served on an everything bagel with pickled red onions and capers. And the side of fruit was fabulous- someone is selecting sweet ripe fruit to serve- yum! Breakfast pizza is offered with 3 toppings. For lighter fare, my other friend ordered a pancake ala carte one morning, and the waffle the next- perfect. While cappuccinos are not listed on the menu they do serve. Wish I had a Miss RIcky's in my neighborhood. :-)

Such a good Brunch spot! Right in downtown. The quirky entrance instantly boosts your mood. The inside itself is more upscale than I expected. The staff is super friendly. I loved our waitress, she was so upbeat and had all the recommendations. I got the chicken and waffles and it was delicious! The chicken had good flavor and the waffle was crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside. It came with an egg, which I appreciated because most Chicken & waffles dishes don't come with one. They had high quality maple syrup, another way this dish was enhanced. The Mimosa was perfect (wink wink). My friend had the Salmon benedict and really enjoyed it her meal. I would love to try more dishes next time I am in town.

Dined on a Wednesday night and it was a slow night but picked up by the time we left. The beet salad was earthy and fresh, with tangy and bright goat cheese. I ordered the margarita pizza and it was flavorful, well seasoned with a crispy yet chewy crust. Not pictured is the cheesecake which was creamy and dense in just the right way. Served with a berry compote and fresh berries. Our server was absolutely delightful, checking in throughout the meal and promptly with our drink service too. This is a little gem, will definitely visit again while in Chicago!

Miss Ricky's was one of the few places within walking distance of the hotel to accommodate a group at the time we needed. It's a bright, open spot in the Virgin Hotel with large windows to the street and a bar opposite. At the time we arrived it was at the end of the happy hour, it wasn't too busy. We all ordered one of the drink specials. Because none of us were particularly hungry right then we opted for some of the happy hour food specials but a few also picked some things off the main menu -- most of which was Italian inspired..The service was outstanding. The waitress really did a great job for us and accommodating our group. The dinner menu isn't that large and that's makes it much simpler to choose. What Miss Ricky's does do, they do well. The only ding for me were the happy hour special drinks. They weren't that good, and I didn't see that any of us finished it.

A nice hidden gem in the Virgin Hotel with a range of options from salads to pizza to pasta to steak. The seating is comfortable with "couches" or traditional tables, and the staff are great. We had a well-paced, relaxed meal and every dish was quite solid. The seafood risotto was nice prepared and the truffle steak fries excellent - flavorful and not overly greasy and salty. It's worth a visit as the ambiance is great for a business or catch-up meal, and the service amazing.

Go here!!! It smells like a dream when you walk in. The staff (especially Brooke ) are so friendly and nice. The food is fantastic - the omelette is no joke one of the best I've ever had. We eat breakfast out quite frequently and this place is especially cozy, friendly and delicious. The coffee was hot and strong and the breakfast pizza was just a joy.

It was my first time dining at Miss Ricky's on Saturday night. My cousins pick the place for dinner. I'm so glad they did. It was fabulous. This restaurant is in the Virgin Hotel. We started out with cocktails, a couple of old fashioneds, a dirty martini and a comfortably numb. The old-fashioned was so tasty, with tobacco bitters and tea in the cocktail. The comfortably numb with mezcal and grapefruit was smoky good. The table share the housemade focaccia served in a little skillet. My husband had the tortellini special for Saturday night. The tortellini was perfectly cooked to al dente, and it had added texture from the crispy parmesan. I had the charred octopus with purple rice and avocado purée. This was amazing! The table shared the tiramisu for dessert, which was so creamy and light. Our server was Omar, and he went out of his way to make sure we got out on time to see our show at the Chicago Theater. Service was great, food was delicious and I love the atmosphere, especially the round booths. This is a small restaurant, so make sure you make reservations. We'll definitely be back!
