One of the best meals we've had in a long time. The gorgeous view and meticulous staff matched the excellent food. This is the definition of expensive, not overpriced. All the skewers were stellar, especially the unctuous, spicy eggplant. Every tuna nigiri was melt-in-your-mouth memorable. The crispy whole snapper was almost a letdown because it was merely a 4-star dish. The batter was a little salty and the salad ordinary. You can't do much better for a special occasion in Chicago.

Ambiance - 5. Beautiful restaurant with gorgeous Lakeview from the terrace.Food -3. Average quality food. The "shrimp fried rice" is basically a bibimbap without the veggies. The "tempura rock shrimp" tastes like fried frozen shrimp with thick breading. There are two types of Maki rolls here - the tiny one with 8 bites, and the thicker one with 5 pieces. The seaweed wrap doesn't stick and the rice is falling apart... Dessert -5!! The best part is the dessert! The Black sesame mochi is very unique and isn't found in other places, crunchy sesame crisps on top, ice cream in the middle with warm mochi at the bottom, very delicioso! The mango and coconut sorbet is also a big hit, best I have ever had. The matcha silk chocolate tarts are rich and smooth, heavily good if you like chocolate moose. Overall I would recommend the view and the dessert, not so much the food.

I don't know why I never came around writing a review here when I first came here last year early June. My coworker asked if I wanted to try Miru as it just opened up and I lived nearby. It is gorgeous inside and the staff are all great. I also went back of Miru for a quick lunch with a friend about a month ago. It still lived up to expectations. My favorite things to order are the duck yakisoba and the crispy rice appetizer. My only complaint with the crispy rice is that it should come with at least six pieces minimum. Other than that, it is delicious! It's a must try. The food is all great and there's a variety of food from small bites, sushi, sashimi, and entrees. On a nice day, you can eat out on the terrace and possibly watch the fireworks depending on the day. My favorite drink to order is the Lady Luck. It's a sweet drink that is also cute. For a great atmosphere and a lovely dinner, Miru is a great place to go. Just be ready to spend some money.

I came with a friend to Miru on a weekday, mostly for the rooftop. The entire restaurant is GORGEOUS. Stunning views of the loop, and the aesthetic is perfect for the theme. My friend and I just got drinks, and they were phenomenal! Bartender was knowledgable and friendly. Once I start raking in millions, I'll be back for dinner.

Had the most amazing experience on the rooftop the last time I went. The service was top tier and the sushi was delectable. The edamame is the best I've had and the shrimp fried rice hits the right spot every time.

Definitely a great brunch spot to come if you want to sit outside with gorgeous views and good service! Went on a Saturday and it surprisingly wasn't that packed. I loved the bao buns they were so fluffy and tasty, definitely recommend. The mimosa diy was fun too, made more sense than just getting individual mimosas!! Great experience, would love to come back!

Unforgettable Dining ExperienceI celebrated my birthday at this restaurant, and it instantly became the best dining experience we've ever had. The restaurant's ambiance is elegant, sleek, and uniquely inviting, setting the stage for a memorable evening. Every dish surpassed our expectations; each bite was exceptional. The tender pork belly, fresh sushi, and out-of-this-world lobster spring rolls left us craving more. To complement the exquisite flavors, the cocktails were perfect, adding another layer of enjoyment to the meal. We were unsure which red we wanted to enjoy during dinner, so our server went above and beyond and brought us 4 different tastings to sample. We've been raving about our experience to everyone we know, recommending this gem without hesitation. If you're looking for an unforgettable dining adventure, this restaurant is an absolute must-try. We can't wait to go back and experience the rooftop during warm weather!

Everyone is dressed up here, as its food, panoramic views, and prices.Favorite dishes:* Raw hamachi, lemon, and white ponzu* Raw salmon, truffle, yuzu, and miso salt* Crispy rice with spicy blue fin tuna* Shichimi eggplant, red miso, and crispy lotus* Triple tuna maki* Miru rainbow* Black sesame mochi* Chocolate silk tart* Coconut cake and mango mousseSo-so dishes:* Duck yakisobaLeast favorite dishes (1 star off):* Crispy rice with king crab: too much mayonnaise* Lobster spring rolls: did not taste lobster* Diver scallops: too saltyPlease note that Miru adds a "surcharge" (not gratuity) to every meal without disclosing this to its customers ahead of time. One night, on our ~$500 dinner bill, we were added $50. Then when we came for lunch on another day, on our ~$175 bill, we were added $4. It seems like the surcharge amounts were random. When we asked our waitstaff what this charge is for, he could not give an answer, so we asked him to take it off. I don't like how they just sneak that in there if you don't check your bill.

We've been looking forward to this experience for a while! Went here for my sister's birthday and also caught some fireworks at navy pier as well. They have multiple terraces to enjoy the views and have some drinks. Sometimes they are nice enough to seat you even if you don't have reservations. The food was very rich and high quality. The highlights of the meal would be the black miso cod, which was so buttery and just melted in your mouth. The filet mignon was also very tender but would steer towards their seafood. The nigiri and sashimi was very good our favs would be the salmon nigiri for sure. The yellowtail was alright but the chef's platter had a variety to get a good taste. Would avoid the fried rice, it was too burnt on the bottom for my liking. The service wasn't the best here, would have to wait forever to see our server and having to wave down the busboy on multiple occasions to put in an order or request something. Their cleanliness also needs a bit of work. Touching the plate with their hands and fingers all over while setting it down, literally holding the plate by the middle wasn't that sanitary. Not to mention the water smelled funky. Would recommend bottled sparkling water.

We came here for brunch and were immediately wowed by the scenery. Super happy we were sat next to the window for the great view.Tip of the cap to the staff who were kind enough to hold our table and talk us through how to find the restaurant too.We started with drinks and the Pork Belly Croquettes and Lobster Spring Rolls. We also got the salmon Tokyo breakfast, which was a nice change of pace for brunch. The desserts were the wow, honestly. We got the Coconut-Mango and the Black Sesame Mochi. Both were beautiful and delicious.Everything was delicious and service was perfect.
