A Phoenix staple that I have been going to since childhood when it was at Park Central. They have the best and leanest pastrami I have had anywhere. Including famous New York delis. The service is lightning fast even during the lunch rush.If you want the best pastrami sandwich in Phoenix this is your place

I wouldn't have stopped in if it weren't for the $7.50 July special- half of a sandwich and a side. The turkacado I ordered (turkey breast, bacon, Cheddar, avocado, lettuce, tomato, red onion and chipotle mayo) is $16.50 for the entire sandwich! Other sandwiches fall in the $13.50- 22 range. The turkacado was fine- neither the deli turkey nor onion roll tasted better or fresher than the average sandwich shop. It was also rather skimpy on the turkey. The pasta salad was absolutely flavorless. I can't justify returning, considering there are other delis that are both less expensive and tastier.

Came for lunch with colleagues. We got there right when they opened so there was no wait although it didn't take long for the order line to form! You order at the counter and you can watch as they build your meal, which is always fun! I tried the Big Dipper, which was huge! Lots of meat and a good portion of dipping au jus to go along with it. Flavorful and with the soft bread, it just created the best wet meat sandwich! The fries were extra crispy, which I typically order. Others had the chicken strips and fries and the turkey sandwich with a side of matzo ball soup and the chicken salad sandwich. Everything is fresh, homemade, and their process of ordering to getting your food is seamless. The best deli experience! Can't wait to have lunch again here.

It was a balmy 104o and we noticed the waiting crowd just before the 11 am opening. We suddenly decided that was where we needed to go for lunch. We were definitely not disappointed. Coming from the east coast, we long gave up expecting "real" pastrami in Az, so imagine our delight when the staff was piling sandwiches with the real stuff (not the compressed imitation.) My sandwich overflowed (I'd order a half next time) and the accompanying potato salad was great. Hubby had the coleslaw and we had a hard time deciding which (if either) was better. My sandwich brought back a lot of memories and I could only eat half. I snacked on the other part later and then didn't eat dinner. This place has easy, ample parking, was immaculate inside and the ordering/serving line was like a well-oiled machine. I guess I would describe the décor as practical/utilitarian--nothing fancy or memorable--but I was there for the food. I certainly got my East Coast fix. Loved it!

Visited her for lunch today, we each got a Big Dipper, there was a long line but it moves fast. The sandwich was huge the meat was tender the au jus was flavorful and not greasy, the fries were hot and crispy, I also got a side of the steamed veggies and they were cooked perfectly. Nothing was overly salty which is common at deli counter restaurants. Our total was $46 for 2 sandwiches and the extra side. Definitely enough food for me to get a 2nd meal .

This is the best deli I have found since the late 60's in Cali. Opens at 11 am and the line is continuous, people keep coming in, it's that good. Service is FAST.

Nothing memorable about this place for me . Unfortunately my side of masked potatoes was the best part of my meal. I ordered a pastrami sandwich and it wasn't even edible . Cold meat with no flavor . I also tried the Matza ball soup . It was served with one huge maza ball and broth with again no flavor. My boyfriend's Ruben sand which was over 20 bucks and mediocre at best .

On this recent evening visit, the parking was adequate. Other times, like at lunch it has been difficult to find a place. If you exit from the lot, you can only go north. The floors are hard. The seating is comfortable. There is no music, no din. The food is served cafeteria style. You can dine ala fresco. The space for the line is wide enough to fit a wheel chair, as are the isles. The floors are clean everywhere. If you want to find some dirt, you are really going to have to look hard or bring your own. The menu is extensive. The online menu shows seven bread options and eleven side dishes. There are 65 menu items not including sides and soups. Not all items are available every day. Most main items run just under $20. They have a children's menu. Deserts are all under $10. It would serve you to pre-meditate your eating. Review the on line menu. Not all dishes are served every day. "The Straw" is made of Hot Pastrami, melted Swiss cheese and steamy sauerkraut. My choice of bread was rye. It could not have been better. The meat is lean and tender, and there was a load of Swiss on top.It comes with a side dish. They have coffee but not decaffeinated. Their carrot cake is very good, but it's a style that is more like ordinary cake. It was not as dense and soft as expected. The parking lot is too small for busy times, but the food the dizzying array delicious looking food will get you over that. There is seating inside and outside. The service is amiable. This is a really good place. You should try it.

The turkado was good, but there are too many issues with cleanliness to go back anytime soon. The first guy with the bread choice has this dirty rag next to him that he uses to clean his area, but unfortunately, he never changes his gloves and keeps using the rag in between customers. None of the guys changed gloves on the line either. And the corned beef and pastrami are in warming bins, pre cut, just like the turkey. This is not a Jewish deli, just a pretender. Josh doesn't care.

Close to NY style meats but not exactly. Fresh and moist corned beef and pastrami. I went there for Knish and they didn't have any. Take it off the menu then. Had matzoh ball soup - nothing to write home about. The corned beef sandwich on brioche was good. Nice portion. Fries were crispy. It's a long way from home. Would not make the trip again.
