Mirabella Italian Cuisine & Bar

Great local spot with a wonderful back story and even better service. I was absolutely delighted when I read the head chef was from Ecuador, my home place. I mentioned this to the waiter and he brought over the owners brother. We were met so warmly I couldn't wait to see what was next. The minute you walk in the smell hits you - Italy in the middle of Irving park. Warm bread with a trio of toppings. Delicious bottles of Chianti. The grilled calamari was PHENOMENAL. I chose minestrone and my husband got the house salad- both fantastic starters. I ordered the veal and I don't think I can have veal anywhere else again. It was amazing. Veal pounded thin, breaded, baked in a garlic lemon sauce and then bathed in house made marinara and fresh mozzarella. It's heaven on a silver platter. My husband got the linguine with clams. The sauce had a little kick and the pasta was cooked to perfection.I can't say enough about how wonderful the service was and how memorable the food was either. This is now my new spot and I can't wait to bring back friends and family!

We came here for bday dinner. Honestly the food was pretty good. Servers were nice, they bought out raw steaks for customers to choose at other tables but not ours for some reason, which is why they get 3 stars from me. Can't be a 5 star review if some customers are getting better service than others. Steak was cooked good, little burnt at the top but I am assuming that's what they were aiming for. Calamari was good, most of it was the rings. Just an fyi many restaurants use imitation squid which is mostly in the form of rings. There were few pieces that weren't though. Either way, I don't think Ill be back. Definitely go try them out though.

We are here last night. After moving into the neighborhood not too long ago, my husband happened to walk by and saw the patio and we decided we should check it out sometime. Last night was perfect patio dining weather so we made a reservation. We were here at 7p.m. on a Saturday night and it was busy but we were able to get a table on the patio. We were surprised by how much we enjoyed everything about this place!! The server was great- helpful as we made our selections and enthusiastic. I think some might say the service was a bit slow but nothing extreme, just low staff which seems the status quo everywhere these days. I only mention it so that you plan accordingly to enjoy the experience. We were just enjoying the beautiful evening. We got the calamari and shrimp app which was really good- it was served in a sauce which I hadn't had in that way before and it was very good. Then we both got pasta dishes: the cheese ravioli in vodka sauce and the fettuccini supreme. Both were superb (I was really impressed with the great flavor of the sauce in my fettuccine and the flavors all together) and large portion sizes that we were able to bring home some leftovers. We ended the night by sharing really delicious cheese cake. I'm already excited to go back! I loved how the interior dining room looks with all the lights so can't wait to try the indoor dining experience too.

Favorite restaurant in Chicago. It's everything I want a Chicago Italian Steakhouse to be. Plus the food tastes amazing - never had a bad cut there. The sides? Outrageously delicious. The pasta is out of this world. I really want to hand pick and mix the perfect pasta dish off menu. Because I end up ordering 3-4 dishes to get all best parts.The staff is kind and diligent. Even when busy (which they are) I've never felt forgotten or abandoned. Kitchen is moving quickly and never had a long wait. The potato chips they make are confusing, and I'm not a big fan. But it's sweet that they want to make them happen. I bring everyone here. I order takeout from here. I dream about here.

We came here last night and were blown away by our experience. To start, we had the grilled calamari with shrimp and it melted in your mouth. Highly recommend. For our mains, we had the Linguine with Clams in white sauce and the Chicken Mirabella. The clams were wonderful and perfectly cooked. The chicken was a half chicken and the perfect combination of flavors and spices. Portions were great for us to have lunch the next day too. For dessert we had the bananas foster and I honestly have never had bananas foster that were this good. It was so cozy inside and the service was superb. We were never rushed, but we were always promptly paid attention to (shoutout to Ernesto for being the best!). This was such a great meal and we can't wait to be back.

Great old fashioned restaurant, the kind where the food is very high quality and the portions are massive, though the prices are fairly expensive. 20-40 dollars for an entree. My dad loves this place and it reminds him of his favorite places that growing up. Very classic place.

Thursday evening, we were originally headed to Olive Garden across the street but opted to have authentic Italian here instead! It'sa rainy day so the pretty patio that sits on the corner, was closed. At entry, there is a full bar with sports on the tv. In the dining area to the right there is ample white table cloth tables. The ceiling is wooded with pretty chandeliers and hanging lights. It models an A shape cabin w Italian decor. Italian music playing on the speakers. Greeted upon entry and seated immediately. Our waitress was wonderful w/ a thick Italian accent. He said he made the minestrone soup. He recommended steak or calamari, also tiramisu. Our water glasses stayed topped off. Sweet selection of wines, the red was chilled. We opted out of appetizers. The minestrone is basically a veggie chili, nothing extraordinary but definitely not bland or from a can. The bread was basic and the garlic butter was not memorable. The carrot cake was very moist w a serving size for two. I wish the coconut flakes was optional on the carrot cake. The eggplant came with noodles and potatoes which is excessive starch. The cheese ravioli was very tasty. We didn't add any salt. Quality Parmesan. Hefty serving sizes. Good price! Our food was hot fresh and served promptly. You can park in the lot across the street by LaFitness.

Mirabella is my go-to spot for eggplant parmesan! SO GOOD! It is a little pricey, but they do include a number of sides (bread, soup or salad, their homemade chips, and pasta). I honestly can't decide if I'd prefer it cost less without all the sides or if I've come to appreciate the sides and want them regardless of the price...I definitely could do without the chips.

The service was impeccable and the food was excellent. This is the best place to go if you want an authentic italian meal and relaxing atmosphere. We came after a Cubs game and it was totally worth it and hi the spot!!
