This take out only Chinese restaurant in SW Minneapolis is quite good. Always prompt pick up.

This is a classic, no-frills American Chinese takeout spot. I'll preface this review by saying I can only speak for the beef & broccoli lunch special. The dish was piping hot, service was super quick, but disappointingly restrained when it came to flavor. The lunch special comes with a choice of rice and side along with an entree. I got chicken fried rice and an eggroll. Each item shared a similar flavor profile that was led by salt, the rice too salty to eat. I hate to say it, but Trader Joe's frozen beef and broccoli is more flavorful. This place's saving grace is the freshness of the ingredients they use-- the meat and veggies I had were top notch! Frustratingly so, in fact, since it shows the potential this place has.

Sometimes you just need Chinese take out. I started to write cheap Chinese take out but it isn't cheap anymore. I was in the mood and Xin Won was closest to my house so away I went. I shared three egg rolls and an order of fried rice with my wife and the total with tip was over $20. The food was far from great even for hole in the wall Chinese. Xin won is pretty much take out. They have two small tables but I would find it depressing to actually eat there. Service is friendly. The person behind the counter seemed happy to have my business and my order came out fast. The food was mediocre even by Chinese take out standards. The shrimp fried rice had only shrimp and rice - no veggies, no egg bits, and the shrimp were under cooked so the whole dish had to be microwaved briefly. The egg rolls were okay but small. Next time I have an urge for Chinese take out I will look a bit further afield.PS. They must use a ton of salt or MSG. An hour after eating I was tremendously thirsty and my mouth felt like the middle of the Sahara. I felt horrible and spent a miserable afternoon until the effects wore off. Never again.

We love ordering from Xin Wong whenever we are in the mood for Chinese delivery. They are always very quick and food is fresh. Just wish that they would put more veggies in the lomein. Any dish that is marked spicy will come with a kick. We've been very happy with our food orders. It's nice that they are not so far away as well from our house. Prices are reasonable especially with the combo dinners. I love their Sichuan and Hunan style most because I like spicy. Loved that they have online ordering. We've done catering trays here too and they are very accommodating and very reasonable too. Would recommend it.

Solid Chinese take out with better than average appetizers. Big kitchen with a lot of people cooking. The website is a great way to order and even on a busy night they will get it outFood wise most of it is pretty much like most other Chinese take out places. Except the appetizers. They are above average. Cheese filled wontons, deep fried shrimp, even the egg rolls are above average.

Mostly disappointed. I am on a mission to find a good Chinese takeaway and was hoping this would be it. My criteria was someplace that had good (notice, I wasn't expecting delicious or out of this world), or even relatively mediocre. Price for the amount was really the only redeeming quality. We tried the General Tso's chicken with pork fried rice. The chicken was not bad (but not that good either). The fried rice was *bad* - not sure it was even fried rice; it was reminiscent of microwave dinner rice but sadly less flavorful. Needless to say, my search continues...

I ordered in from Xin Wong after a long day out celebrating with friends, I was craving some good food and wow did this deliver! I ordered a quart of wonton soup and the Singapore Chow Mei Fun. The wonton soup quite literally made my night, it was so flavorful and comforting. It tasted just like the wonton soup my family used to order when I was younger. The Singapore chow mei fun was also delicious! It was perfectly cooked and had a great curry flavor. I also loved that it came with shrimp, roast pork, and chicken! Portions were very large and I was left with several servings of leftovers for the week. I am still thinking about the wonton soup and will absolutely be ordering from here again soon!

Our dinner was well, just awful. Gelatinous comes to mind. We ordered. Chowmein, Mongolian beef, chicken, wings, and cream cheese wontons. I was really craving chowmein and was so disappointed to open the bag and see a prepackaged fried noodle. Not to mention the sliminess of the sauce. Honestly, it went directly into the garbage after a few bites. The layer of grease on everything was stunning. Never again. A complete waste of money. The only upside was a super quick delivery.

Best Chinese food in south Minneapolis:). I've been going for 15 plus years after Evergreen Chinese closed;)

Have only ordered delivery, but I highly recommend this place. Great food for a reasonable price. Awesome service every time, especially with some severe allergys that my family has. We once ordered twice in the same day and they called us to confirm it wasn't a mistake. No, we just love your food that much!
