Wish I would have known about this place sooner. Was looking for a closer horse camp our home and luckily came across Woodloch. My kiddo has attended another horse camp and liked it, but it was just too far to drive daily. Great family horse stables, reasonably priced for 3 days. The kids get their own horses for the day to take care of. Staff is friendly and helpful. Horses are beautiful and my kiddo had a lot of fun. They send out an informational newsletter before camp what to bring etc. We got to meet their horses on the last day and were greeted by the sweetest little pup each day at drop off.Would defintely recommend.

Owner operated ranch with a very friendly and inviting atmosphere! Lots of opportunities and growth from the very young and inexperienced to the old and seasoned rider. Whether you're interested in personal or group lessons from the very basic to the top levels of riding, jumping, and showing, you'll find someone here who can help or guide you. They are so friendly here, in fact, that you may often find random groups gathering for a friendly trail ride, forming together for a mini group challenge, or even just getting together to socialize around a bonfire!

Seems ok. Not a lot of instructing going on for beginners during group lessons, instructors mostly just watch and play on their phones, occasionally yelling, "trot! Walk! Canter!" My younger daughter (7) was initially enthusiastic but lost interest after about 8 group lessons and a week of camp because her horse never listened to her and no one actually worked with her to teach her to get him to listen- was basically 60 min of pony ring time. My older daughter (9) missed over 20 min of her 60 min lesson today because she had trouble tacking up and there was no one in the barn to help her, and no one went looking for her until over 20 min in. Maybe you need private lessons for a better experience? Anyway, my daughter loves riding but we might need to try and find another stable.

Woodloch is a very well maintained facility, but don't waste money on a horse trainer at this barn, ( the only good one is over booked most of the time) and don't expect to be able to use a lot of the attributes that are described in their listing. Unless you are riding during a lesson or working with a trainer ( and NO outside trainers are allowed) the C.C. course if off limits, the Jump arena is off limits and the upper indoor arena is usually filled with hay wagons, and there are kiddie camps 6 days a week all summer long, which makes the lower indoor arena hard to use as well. It's a very busy environment most of the time, with a lot of children running around as well as loose dogs ( owned by the trainers, who should know better) and they often utilize unexperienced "handlers" to bring horses in and out, so horses must wear halters during turnout ( which are not removed in the stall either) so the novices can catch them. The care your horse gets is reasonably good depending on your stall situation, the trails are adequate and the grooming and tacking areas are clean and well lit. If you just want a place to board your well trained, no special needs, pleasure horse, and don't mind the very active environment then the basic board price is reasonable.
