Wood River Pharmacy

I must say that I'm very impressed with the service I received. New customer with new prescriptions. Called to get a updated order and my prescriptions were ready much sooner then I requested. I've only been inside twice and both times the pharmacist came out to make sure to see what questions I may have on my Meds and explained some things that the doctor didn't so no surprise side effects. I'm so glad I made the decision to come here then some big box, ie Walmart.

They take forever, don't start on your prescriptions unless you are there or call them and even then half the time they're too busy gossiping to help customers. The woman who seemed to be the shift manager today is an absolute cunt. My husband was picking up antibiotics for our newborn and it started raining and he told them he was running to close the windows and she bumped the prescription to the back of the queue and said she assumed he'd gone to the bar. I was in the car and had been napping but woke up and closed the window. He was out there for less than 5 minutes. They also make you do a ton of paperwork and play games where they won't even tell you if they have your prescription until you do it. Absolutely awful!

My daughter ran out of her medication while we were at our cabin in Grantsburg, WI. We had her doctor send a prescription to Wood River Pharmacy in Grantsburg, WI. The counter is in the back of the store so you have to walk through isles of dust laden products on the shelves. Yech. Then I see the employees at the counter. None of them are wearing a mask, during a global pandemic, with a Wisconsin mask mandate in effect, at a pharmacy where many elderly and ill people go to get their medications. About half of the customers did have masks on and some were sitting in a "waiting area" on well worn, dirty chairs. Then a l see/hear one of the large, maskless woman at the counter with a gray, Grantsburg Fire and Rescue sweatshirt speaking in a loud voice to ensure everybody heard making fun of one of their customers. "Yup, [customer name] got the COVID. Isn't she one of those mask wearers? Hahaha" to another woman employee. Followed by "I mean I'll wear one if they are required but otherwise he'll no!". The two woman went on for a few more minutes of this. Thank you for your opinion 'Karen' but I'll rely on doctors and scientists for my facts rather than a high school dropout cashier thank you very much. We finally got the prescription and left. Hand sanitizer was flowing freely afterwards and hot showers abound when we got home. By the way, the cashiers name on the receipt was "Alyssa" and not "Karen" but you get the idea.For you poor souls who rely on this pharmacy without many options, Amazon is now offering an online pharmacy with deep discounts and free, prompt delivery. I highly recommend it over this back woods cesspool.
