Willie's Restaurant

The fountain drinks here tasted off, like they were mixed with swampy water. Request a bottled or canned drink instead. Service and food were great though, I'd stop back if I were ever at the marina again. The restaurant is large with plenty of seating. In fact, a large party was setting up on the other side of the bar and I didn't even notice a drop in service or elevated noise. We're ate off the breakfast menu since it was still early and the biscuits and gravy were enough to feed two people. Homemade hash brown was bigger than my hand. I ate as much as I could and should have boxed up the leftovers, but I had no cooler and a six hour ride home.

A divey spot right along the Mississippi. They have quite a bit of space and it wasn't too crowded on a weekday evening. Came in for drinks and a sandwich. Our server was so sweet, friendly, and helpful! Can't beat the price of the drinks. A lovely local watering hole with many patrons seeming like they knew each other.

This place has great potential, but the service is terrible and the owner doesn't seem to care about the business. The SO and I went here for lunch on a Saturday. There were about 12 customers there, mostly seated at the bar. We weren't greeted when we arrived, but we came through the side door so figured that was why. We sat ourselves at a booth and waited 5 minutes for someone to come over with menus. At this time there had been a couple standing at the main entryway for about 5 minutes without being greeted and they eventually walked out. I got our drinks from the bar and sat back down and it was over 15 minutes before someone came over to take our order. We decided to leave and eat elsewhere. The owner was sitting and drinking at a table right next to us and didn't do anything to help his staff, who apparently was too busy to take our food order. The server/bartender ended up comping our drinks and seemed apologetic, which is the only reason I am giving this place 2 stars instead of 1.

I understand you just opened so I will take the in consideration for the slow and confused staff, but bartenders should be experienced. Our table asked for spicy bloody Mary's, but can't drink it you dumped half the bottle of Tabasco in each drink is not what we asked for. Then when asked to tame one of them down they dumped half of it out and added luke warm clamato juice ruining the whole drink. That drink should've been remade correctly.Spice should enhance a drink/food, not kill it. The whole table not finishing a single drink should've been a clue.

I just love this place! I was first introduced when my husband's band started playing here and now I look forward to each gig. It's mysterious to drive up to at night because you have to drive down a long driveway down to the bay where the bar/restaurant is located, but it is like an oasis as soon as you get there. It's not very fancy inside, a little divy but not bad. I've always gotten good service and anything I've ordered off the menu has been so delicious! If you are lucky enough to be there on $5 burger night - that is an amazing deal! The burgers are some of the best around and it comes with fries. A friend of mine recently had the grilled chicken salad and said that it was the best one he's ever gotten (I had to ask why his salad bowl looked like a dog had licked it clean ha!) The bartenders and servers have been great every time - even with some of my more rowdy friends haha! I can't wait to come back, especially in the summer!

This place is listed as a dog friendly restaurant. we walked up and was told we weren't allowed inside and had to sit on the side patio, ok that's fine. No worries. After waiting 30 minutes for service in the heat and no service, we left. Don't list yourself as dog friendly when you aren't open to serving people that have their pets with them.

My boyfriend and I moved to Saint Paul park not too long ago and we've been trying all the restaurants in the area. This place is awesome! We've been going for breakfast and they have amazing breakfast specials! The staff is so nice, and it's in a neat little area.

This place is so COOL. Pulling up we were unsure as it looked quiet and a little run down/tucked away. But the food was absolutely amazing and our waitress/bartender was so much fun to chat with and super attentive. Will definitely be coming back! :)

I've gone into Willie's a few times and I've noticed the owner drinking more and more. He seems to argue with his staff frequently in front of customers. I watched him yell at a young lady and later noticed her running to the bathroom crying. Last night a woman fell on ice outside from there being no salt and the cops had to be called to settle the matter. She told me there was nothing in the first aid kit to help her stop the bleeding on her hands so the restaurant was not stocked and prepared in case of an emergency. The food is good though, when the dishes are actually clean and do not smell like mold.

This place is a hidden gem! The girl friend and I went there last night. I got nachos. They were huge and wonderful! She got a wrap and fries and loved them! The staff is absolutely wonderful, even though we're not regulars. This place is definitely a repe
