Rented kayaks for an afternoon. While they were very helpful on the phone, I was very clear that we were two inexperienced moms with 3 kids each. Once we got to the river he had us pulling the boats and lifting them onto the trailer, and directing us, rather than doing the work. I'm sorry, but that's part of the service we paid for. We enjoyed our time on the river but were really unhappy with the service.

I rented a canoe for a 2 day 32 mile trip this weekend with a college buddy. I'm not really sure what constitutes a 5 star canoe/kayak outfitter, but I had no real complaints about WRO. I do wish they sold fishing licenses on premises - but there is a gas station close by that does, so its not that big a deal. They did give us a map and talk us through the whole trip before driving us up to the launch site. I think i'll use them again next time I want to canoe the st. croix.
