I've never eaten at Wild Boar before. Visited on NYE for cocktails. The staff is so so nice! They are so attentive even though I think they are understaffed. Truly above and beyond. Stars off because the place smelt strongly of vomit the entire night and because they close earlier than other bars in the areas

Coworker Sal and I wanted dinner before a show at the Hopkins Center for Arts. This place was way too convienant to be right across the street. It was decorated nicely for Christmas. Lights, garland, and Christmas tree. It was seat yourself, and we found a booth near a window. Service was quick and attentive even though it was pretty busy. Sal ordered soup of the day (chicken noodle) and salad. I got the Cuban sandwich, with regular fries and SSC. I've had many Cubans and this hit the spot. Good flavor and perfect ratio to bread in this sandwich. My only critique would be to have more mustard just to add more moisture to the dry, smoked meats. The SSC dip helped with that. Fries were crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside. Good seasoning on them. Almost didn't need the SSC dip but I can never pass that up of offered. Many good things on the menu. Will have to come back to try something else!

This is a Hopkins staple! I mean the nostalgia of the old Archie's. It is a great bar with good service. You all know I prefer to sit at the bar, so I cannot comment on table service. The food is good and it's typical bar food. The entertainment is great... pull tabs, darts, golf game, pool tables, big Buck, kids games, and plenty of TV's. Saturday's there seems to be bingo and a meat raffle so it was packed! The prices are reasonable, so in my mind it's a neighborhood staple. Enjoy!!

Had been a while since I've been to Wild Boar in downtown Hopkins, MN but I was quickly reminded how fun this hidden gem of a spot is. Great space inside, nice and big, and the food is pretty dang tasty!Just went for a few Happy Hour apps yesterday but be sure to check them out and all their daily specials!!!CHICKEN AVOCADO FLATBREADAlfredo covered flatbread topped w mozz, roasted chicken, fresh tomato, and avocado. Finished off with Italian seasoning and red pepper flakes. Crust itself was unremarkable but nice and crispy. Alfredo sauce, cheese and the rest of the toppings were on point and worked very well together!!SOUTHWEST EGG ROLLSChicken, pepper jack , jalapeños, peppers, black beans, spinach, corn, cilantro, and garlic wrapped in a tortilla. My buddy said they were delish!!

Great spot to head to for cold beer and game watching! Food: 4/5. We've tried a smattering of apps, the Tex Mex Rolls and Thai Cream Cheese Wontons are so good! The shrimp tacos an Early Bird burger were bland, so would probably avoid those. Ambience: 4/5. Lots of TVs, pulltabs, billiards and fun garage doors that are nice when open on the warmer days. Service: 2/5. Servers are nice but slow and not very attentive. Never cleared out dishes or spent beer glasses when we had another round. Noticed most of the booths around us were still covered in dishes from the lunch rush (we were there at 2pm). Guests had a hard time finding a clean spot and had to resort to a table in the back.

What kind of Hopkins resident would I be if I didn't frequent Wild Boar?! This is a Hopkins staple that's ready for whatever mood you're in: quick bite, hangs with friends, or rowdy fun. We've been in several times and my experience has been pretty consistent:VIBE: Truly depends on when you come in. On a weekday evening you'll find families dining and friends playing billiards and darts. On a weekend, drinking of course! SPACE: While it can get busy fast on evenings and weekends, it's your typical bar that seems to absorb the overflow easily.FOOD: It can be a mixed bag, but I really like their burgers here! My most recent meal of wings here were served lukewarm which was a bummer, but otherwise good wings with plenty of sauce options. LOVE their waffle fries and dipping sauce - your typical bar food fav! SERVICE: I think this spot - like many others - are hurting for help, so service was a bit slow. DRINKS: They offer a handful of specialty cocktails (that are mostly in the sweet side), and plenty of beer. One cider and a few seltzer options. The garage doors open during the summer for downtown Hopkins fun!

Not sure why this place has the low rating it has... It deserves way better. We are in town for a business trip and are staying at a nearby Marriott. We wandered in for a late dinner at about 915 pm (kitchen closes at 1000 pm).Ordered the following:2 little piggys burgerSassy sow sandwich Thai cream cheese wontonsWalleye fingersState fair cheese curdsA few drinks...Sunday evening obviously isn't high traffic, but our service was fantastic and the food was perfect. They need to bottle the Thai Dragon sauce and sell it at the bar... We drug EVERYTHING through it!We'll be back again before we leave town!

The Wild Boar in downtown Hopkins is in a prime location! This place has lots of seating, games, TVs, and pull tabs. Service was overall good as well. Unfortunately the food was not great. I ordered the chicken Cajun pasta and did not enjoy it very much. I found the sauce very watery and the chicken flavorless. For almost $20 you can get better dishes elsewhere. I'm sure there are other dishes that would be better and would go back to try those. I can tell this place gets busy with sports games to be aware of that as well.

Nice selection of food. The burgers, ribs, and Thai curry bowl are the three things I had and were all good. Service was good, and it's a really cool game-watching atmosphere with tons of fans
