Whitewater Travel Plaza

Last night we stopped for dinner at this local place. We were seated almost immediately after arrival. The waitress was very friendly and asked for our drink orders immediately which were also delivered promptly. They are observing covid19 restrictions and we certainly felt safe to dine in.Our meal order was taken promptly and the appetizer salad was delivered in moments. Believe me the appetizer salad is only in name because it is more like a meal in itself!! The main course took a bit longer but was certainly worth the wait. My wife ordered the shrimp dinner that featured nine jumbo shrimp which was to my benefit because she could only eat 6 which made my meal a fish and shrimp dinner. The fish had a nice and light batter and the fish had very good flavor. The real mashed potatoes and gravy hit the spot as well. I really wanted dessert but had no room left!Very hearty meal and must stop for those hungry truck drivers.

Stopped here just passing through to Deadwood. Great rueben and mashed potatoes were real, not boxed.

To the best of my knowledge the kitchen has been shut down. From health depart. I will have to get an update from last week from the owners statement at that time. Right now it's not the best looking place in there. It got flooded tip everything over spilling everything because the power stopped. So it's not to nice down there right now.

Super friendly and they breakfast sandwiches we got where absolutely amazing and HUGE! No pic because we ate it to fast.

Restaurant has some real treats. 1. awesome yummy fruit pies (haven't tried others because the fruit ones are so good i keep getting that)2. corn rival soup (dumplins & veggies with an amazing broth)3. sage stuffing4. mashed potatoes 5. gravyi haven't had anything bad here but those are the top 5 items IMHO.(waitress doesn't mean to seem surly. she's nice really)small C-store has some unique touristy kinda stuff + the usual roadside basics

It's not fast food it's Better Happy I chose to stop here . O what a difference !!!!
