Welna II is my go-to neighborhood hardware store. Close, convenient, helpful staff, and a very inviting environment. They also carry chicken feed, which is great because there are not too many places where I can pick that up at!

Not being a do-it-yourself, home repair kind of guy, I never expected to fall in love with a hardware store, but that's what's happening with Welna II in Seward. It helps that the store's just a short walk from my house. But what turned me into such a fan is the exceptional customer service. As soon as I step in the door I know I'll get a friendly hello and offer of help from whoever's working the counter. Owner Jim Welna and his staff have proven time and time again they're more than happy to go the extra mile to come up with solutions to problems. Plus, when it comes to product recommendations, I can trust they'll steer me in the right direction. Instead of the most expensive item, they'll show me what's locally produced, eco-friendly, AND most cost effective. If they don't have what I need they'll do what they can to make sure I get it. And these people know their stuff! One more thing: If your timing's right, as mine was on my second trip, Mr. Welna might offer you one of the hot dogs he's got cooking on the grill out back. That's the kind of added bonus that makes this family-owned neighborhood hardware such a standout!

The most helpful and friendly staff ever. If you don't find something there or need more help, they'll refer you to their Bloomington Ave. store (which is bigger) or order what you need to their supplier. Comparing to their competitors, their prices are usually lower. They also participate in most of Seward neighborhood social activities and before every new year, they ask their international customers to write "happy new year" in their languages on a whiteboard. After a while they display that colorful board made up of good wishes.

Fantastic little hardware store with really super friendly and helpful employees. They basically have a little of everything- cleaning products, paint, snacks, grass seed, ect its all crammed in that little store! Parking is easy on the backside of the building. Two thumbs up!

I love Welna hardware! The staff people are helpful and friendly, and despite the small size of the place it has just about anything you could want (except for the large, lumber and furniture type items one can only get at big box stores, which I try to avoid). For non-drivers, it is really handy to be able to drop in and pick up all kinds of home improvement gadgets--fasteners, paint, hooks, replacement keys, etc.--ask about the best choices and get a clear, thorough answer, have a pleasant interaction with the staff, and pay a reasonable price.I also love shopping locally, on principle. Hooray for the Seward neighborhood, which has such great local businesses!

I like this store. The only reason I give it 4 stars and not 5 is its size. They do try to pack in as much as they can with the space they have. But it is small none the less. It's near perfect for all your home repair needs. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They don't even complain when i put my .90 cent purchase on my credit card and I appreciate that. There is also parking out back.

I am not the handy, do-it-yerself type. However, when my toilet handle literally snapped and my neglectful landlord didn't prioritize my inconvenience, I became a little sick of having to open the lid to pull up the bulb after every deed. So, I took a trip to Ace Hardware. This store is tiny, even compared to the Ace Hardware's that I'm used to, but it really does have it all. You would think that I wouldn't have the "kid in a candy store" mentality for this, but my sad apartment really did need some sprucing. The staff was extremely helpful in helping me find my less than $3 toilet part replacement, a new kitchen sink stopper, and longer fan pulls for my 10 foot ceilings.I couldn't tell ya about bigger job resources, but they fixed my minuscule problems. Gotta love it.
