Von-Hanson's Meats of Woodbury

A lot of my friends have recommended this location for meats and jerky. I stopped in to meet someone and he was getting pork chops and said they were great and I ended up going with another recommendation of the beef jerky behind the front counter. I tried a the teryaki and garlic cracked pepper and both were good and the staff was great and told me how to preserve it longer so I can enjoy it for a while.

Most of the seasoned items are wrapped in bacon. Delicious, but kind of gross. DO NOT BY CHICKED BREASTS, or should I call them franken-poultry. They are really big and have a very rubbery texture when cooked. Even after pounding out the connective tissues into a schnitzel-like chicken pancakes, they were disgusting. I regularly get their Cattle Man's pack, which I've been satisfied with. The seasoned pork chops are good on the Traeger too. Just avoid the mega-breasts.

Clean, friendly and great service.I am a fan of this chain due to their attention to service and cleanliness. They have great products, always fresh and visually appealing.

Dear Von-Hanson's, Is it wrong that I love the smell of meat markets? I mean sure, home baked cookies and the tops of babies heads smell good too, but there's something about that smell of dry rub seasoning melding with fresh meat that's sort of intoxicating in a completely carnivorous sort of way. I live downtown so there's unfortunately not a super convenient VH location for me to patron more frequently. But whenever I head out to my friend's house in Woodbury, I always make a stop here. Hands down, they have the best marinated chicken breasts in the Twin Cities. They trump Lunds/Byerly's in the categories of: - Sheer size (one breast is easily enough to feed 2 adults)- Seasoning variety (garlic, bbq, cajun, dijon, lemon pepper, tomato basil to name a few.) - Price (consistently less per pound than the Lund's equivalent) And we haven't even talked about the beef, the chops, the sausage or the jerky, which are all super high quality. Von Hanson's also gets an extra star for selling Heggie's Pizza out of their frozen coolers. It feels sacrilegious to enter a meat market and buy a frozen pizza, but if you've never had Heggie's you'll have to trust me that this is no Tombstone. By far the best frozen pizza on the market. This might not be fair, but here I go..... Being an employee off and on of this fine company since 1992 (yes I was under the "legal" working age, but I wanted a new bike, damnit!) I have also been a faithful patron of all the Von Hanson's stores for 2+ decades. It is an old fashioned German/American meat market. They don't carry wild or exotic game, nor do they carry fresh fish and seafood(only frozen.) With a large selection of fresh, homemade sausages, or fully cooked and smoked. Items such as: Chorizo, Andouille, Kielbasa, Polish, Bratwursts, Snack Sticks,(Beef Jerky, Smoked Salmon, Smoked Baby Back Ribs (Done on site, in each store)), as well as a full service meat counter with a wide a variety of poultry, pork, and beef items cut fresh daily. Von Hanson's was founded in 1984 on the idea of giving people great fresh food, at an affordable price with unmatched service. They still carry on with this same tradition today! They have literally created an independent meat empire from the ground up. Stop in at any location and pick up something for the grill!!!!! It's the best for a reason!

Went to Von-Hanson's yesterday, haven't been for a while and I was pleasantly surprised . The selection of meats is very impressive and what I bought was top of the line. Very friendly service and helpful, I will be back soon!
