Vietnam Star Restaurant

My second visit and the food and service were just as good as the first time. The staff (owners?) were super friendly and our food came out quickly and did not disappoint. I recommend the spicy chicken, the pho, egg rolls, and wontons. The store and restrooms were also well kept and clean. I was shocked to see the approx 3.5 yep rating as of my writing this, I expected to see a 4.4 - 4.6. Keep up the great work and food!

Solid 3 stars! Ordered Pho and spring rolls. Spring rolls were a little small and Pho meat balls were a bit small for my liking but overall I was happy. Very friendly owner and reasonable prices. If you need a Pho fix and you are close stop by!

Stopped by to get our pho fix. It's been a minute since we were last here. The food is as good as I last remember. The service was superb. The staff were very welcoming and carried conversations with us, as well as continually checking in on us. Highly recommend.

Dang I love this place. I've been coming here since they opened. Best eggrolls in this hemisphere and look at that shrimp they're servicing with the EFY. Yum! I can't stop giving them five stars, especially after putting up with my friend "Karen" with dietary limitations last Saturday. So sorry on her behalf. I love you all

We tried the pho and it was very bland, no flavor. I had been here in the past too and wasn't excited. My husband is Vietnamese so my review is backed up

What a very welcoming restaurant! After driving 3 hours from Hayward WI to MSP, we decided to exit from the highway to look for lunch options. It was a blessing stumbling into the Vietnam Star Restaurant. The food was heartwarming. The atmosphere was amazing. The best part is Christie and her brother. Christie was an amazing host. She made us feel right at home. She suggested amazing food options. We will be coming back the next time we are in the MSP area. Highly recommended!

Sigh...Many times I have eaten here. Tried several dishes, mainly Pho. I...okay, the service is great, the restaurant clean, and yet, I give such low marks because the food is just...sooo substandard.I ordred two different variations of Pho. Both equally disappointing- watered down, barely flavorful broth, like star anise, cloves, cinnamon sticks, black cardamom pods, fennel seeds, coriander seeds??? 48hour broil? Tastes not at all like actual Pho. A watered downed version to serve to unbeknownst suburban ignorants. I know, I probably sound arrogant. I am writing for those who are true foodies looking for a Pho fix and are contemplating Vietnam Star. Take the extra 15 min to go to Pho 400, Pha Ca Dao, or the many other better Pho restaurants in St. Paul along University Ave. The portion here is TINY for a base of $16, with very little meat, noodles or aromatics. Mainly broth, which, as I mentioned beforehand, is quite watered down and lacking any flavor, and some pieces of what you had ordered RE: meat, cilantro, onions, etc.The host/ess, servers and workers are EXTREMELY NICE AND ACCOMODATING! Why I feel bad giving such negative review for the food. It is obvious that there are people who come regularly, and that is a great community support system. However, I come for the food. Because I'm a foodie.So that is my take. If you just want great service with half@$$ed food, this is great for you. If you are looking to satisfy that Pho, Vietnamese HỦ TIẾU, or BÚN BÒ HUẾ, you will be disappointed.

I recently visited this restaurant and I was pleasantly surprised about the new look of the place. From the floor to the ceiling was everything changed. It is clean, friendly, nice pictures on the wall, flowers on the table. Very welcoming.We ordered some spring rolls, Wonton soup, (tried their Tamarind soup too.) Entries were Tom Rim shrimp and Singapore noodles. All were very delicious. Lots of flavors, good portion, affordable price.We were lucky having Christy, the owner to serve us. She is kind, attentive, very professional. She cares about her business. I loved the relaxed vibe in the restaurant.I highly recommend Vietnam Star. I will return to this place

We have been coming here forever! My husband and I began coming here and through the years our kids, family, and friends. Not only is the food, service, and cleanliness awesome the owners are top notch, and treat you like family!! I highly recommend!!

After moving we haven't been to Vietnam Star in several years but when in the area today, we were happy to see they were still there and were pleased to know their service, ambience, and food is still excellent.
