BREAKFAST SPOT (sorry didn't mean to yell lol but you gotta come here)! Came here with my family for breakfast, as we were staying up @ Breezy Point for the week and read all the other wonderful reviews. You order at the counter then pick a spot to sit. Waitstaff were all super friendly and welcoming. The whole country/antique vibe of the restaurant was absolutely adorable. They also have a loft library with lots of books for kids, was a huge hit!We ordered the weekly specials off the board & they did not disappoint. My mom got a Wild Rice Omelette that was absolutely AMAZING, my mouth waters just thinking about it. The kids got huge pancakes. They ate them all & asked for more. We will definitely return again when in the area & highly recommended everyone to go here asap!

My family (husband, 3 boys, and I) came here on a Wednesday morning at about 8 am. The parking lot was mostly full, but there were many tables open inside. The restaurant was decorated with vintage/antique/recycled items, and sunshine streams in through the front window making it warm and inviting. We ordered at the counter, then found a table to sit at while we waited for our food. The beverages are self-serve, but the food was brought to the table. We didn't wait too long, and we were rewarded with wonderful food and smiling service! My husband and I ordered The Whole 9 Yards (eggs, ham, sausage, bacon, and potatoes all covered in sausage gravy), my 11-year-old and 6-year-old ordered the French Toast Special, and my 9 y.o. ordered a blueberry pancake - which the waitress/hostess said was very large - and it was, about the size of 3 pancakes! The pancake tasted like a blueberry muffin and needed no syrup. The Whole 9 Yards was rich and tasty! The French toast was served with bacon and cheesy scrambled eggs and was quickly devoured. Everyone thought that everything was very good!If we are in the area again, we would definitely go back!

We ride our bikes 15 minutes to Valeri Ann's for Saturday morning breakfast, but if you're a 20 minute car ride do it! Fantastic food! Valeri Ann owns and runs, and servers may be her own teenagers (?)Food is made to order so there may be a bit of a wait because you got there after everyone else, but really no more than that place on Crosslake.

What a great, local find! We were visiting from out of town and stumbled across this gem! Fresh made food - nothing pre-made or packaged. A very old time, general store vibe that serves up great meals with friendly service. They grill is small, so when they are busy, there is a wait for food but it is worth it!

Very cute & quaint decor. Friendly staff and even friendlier owner. Plenty of east facing windows provide brilliant interior for breakfasting.Imaginative menu. I opted for the MN Scramble and a cuppa joe. Coffee had distinctly different flavor. Not sure if it was a nut blend or what, but it made for a flavorful jumpstart to my morning. A cup worth the jaunt to come get it.While the flavor was okay to a carnivore & the wild rice ingredient provided a very nice texture contrast, I found my MN Scramble dish pretty rich & oily. No doubt due to having sausage, cheese, and scrambled eggs as constituent ingredients. Nonetheless, the pool of oil left on the plate (see picture) says the cook was being pretty free when lubing the flat-top for the fry up. The sausage flavor in the scramble pretty much overwhelmed everybody else. Only the onions were strong enough to get in an occasional word edgewise, while everybody else stayed in the background.Compared to the strong scramble flavor, the wild rice & cranberry toast with butter paled. It tasted fine but lacked the punch to become even a second string player on the roster for this breakfast. I'd guess with a quieter entree it would prove more satisfying.Price seemed a couple bucks high for a diner tucked away in the middle of (or on the way to) nowhere, in spite of the imaginative menu & friendliness of the staff. Nonetheless, Valerie Ann's will remain on my radar for a repeat visit since I didn't grab a cinnamon roll as internet recommended on my initial visit.

We stopped on the way home from Crosslake because of a recommendation! Super cute atmosphere, friendly & helpful staff, great menu and food! What a treat - made our whole day.Next year will bring our family here and meet friends for breakfast during our time in Crosslake! So fun to find places like this in this fast pace world - this will be our new tradition! They also have frozen home-made meals, soups and desserts, took some home, so nice not to cook when we first got home!! Will order ahead next year for our stay in Crosslake!Highly recommend this great restaurant
