I had a large wool rug that got eaten by moths in storage. Took it here based on a recommendation from.my movers and was very happy with the experience. It was inexpensive and easy to do.

A friend of mine once told me a story about an amusing character he came across at a recycling facility, and even though he told me that story years ago, I am positive I talked to the same guy when I came here this week. I don't know how helpful that will be to readers of this review, but I'm writing about it anyway. My friend told me he thought the way this guy very dismissively and condescendingly valued his load was really funny. "Ahhh FIVE BUCKS," he told my friend in a way that seemed designed to shame him for such a meager delivery of recyclable material. I just had some panes of glass I needed to get rid of, and St Paul won't pick those up so I called this place and asked them what I should do and how much it would cost. The guy on the phone just said to bring it and "we'll look at it". When I arrived, it was hard to figure out where to go. There aren't any obvious signs or anything, and the only way you know you're at Twin City Refuse & Recycling is by spotting the name on some dumpsters in the area. So if you're wondering which place is the right place, I guess I can just say I'm pretty sure it's just all that stuff at the end of that one road. And when you get there, pull around the far back of the furthest building until you come to a sign with prices which are apparently just some suggestions. When I got to a person, I told him I have some glass panes. He looked at them in my trunk and said, "Ahhh just throw 'em in that container over there and TAKE OFF!" It was totally the same guy my friend talked to, right???!I was pleased that I didn't have to pay anything, although I really am not that confident that I threw my glass in the correct container and, I don't know, I guess I just feel like such a pitiful person for not bringing a more substantial offering...

I have been using this Dump for over 25 years. they have taken my household junk for a reasonable price. I was there for my second time today and I was told that I was done for the day. There were just too many new people coming in and creating long lines. WTF. Isn't this what doing business is all about? Don't think I will return.

If you want to be insulted when you use a business, this is a great place. I have used Twin City Refuse for years and today was my final customer visit. It's not just the long lines and the vehicles careening in and out of the yard. It's the behavior.Today was a hot day. I live with disabilities and sitting in a long line for half an hour makes my condition worse. I got in the yard after the long wait, and was not fast enough for the angry gray-haired gentleman working in the yard. For $20 for the debris from my friend's garage, I don't need a thank you. I would prefer to not hear WTF is wrong with you?I don't expect Emily Post, just a little common courtesy.

Strange that I would be reviewing a dump but it will save you a LOT of money if you are a St. Paul resident with a gouging hauler. Along the way you can enjoy interesting curiosities that their workers have rescued from the trash (see my photo of the stuffed cat in their sandstone cave). I used to have alley trash pickup but when that became too expensive I began using this pay dump and have paid about $50 per year for all my trash, whereas the cheapest pickup services will run you several hundred dollars per year. Why be a chump? The only drawback is that if you get a line of demo contractors ahead of you, you can be waiting an hour. Look for the distinctive hot pink colored roll-offs along Water Street and you're in the right place.

It's a dump, literally. We've been working on cleaning out the garage and the house for the last couple of months. We discovered this place because the one closer to the house closes at noon on Saturdays. Which is interesting because that is kind of early in the day.The place is tucked away, but not hard to find. They charge based on what you have in the vehicle. The first time we went, we didn't have enough cash. The guy working was nice enough to let us come back with our second load and the cash for both. This was the 3rd time I've gone along. It's actually a really good stress reliever! It's fun to throw garbage at other pieces of garbage. I love throwing glass on bricks and vice versa. How boring have I gotten that a trip to the dump is exciting? Either way, go along and consider it your lucky day if you have bricks and someone else has dropped off old windows!

If I could give 6 's I would! By far the best dump ever! Real people! Treats for your 4 legged friends not to mention best prices you'll find! I've read other reviews of Karen's that had to wait in line.. boo hoo, so did every one else that day. You're not special. Your disability to wait in line, or whatever issue you have isnt the fault of the buisness but the residents in your fellow community, some move fast, some move slow, some are Karens. This is called life. Anywho, love this place, so many colorful people, awesome staff, great price, what else do you require?....it's the dump.

They will block off the entrance an hour before closing. If you say you're going to be open until 1pm, be open until 1pm. Drove all the way across town and arrived an hour before close to be waived away. Ridiculous.
