BULL BITES. Get them. You wont regret it. Absolutely delicious. Staff is great and friendly. Ambience is that of a small town bar and grill. We are repeat customers.

I don't understand any crap reviews for service. I have a cabin in the area and one to Trails once a week. Service is always on point! Jess is one of the best waitresses I've ever had and the bartender Kyle is the shiznit. Don't expect an award winning meal. It's bar food. Good bar food, but nothing to write home to mom about. Ive never had a bad meal, but I'm not saying you need to rush out for the food. It's what you'd expect. I come for the service, pull tabs. Descent beer choice for a smaller town including always having one on tap from a brewery right in town. My only complaint would be they seldom change their menu. They should try and change it up once or twice a year and add/remove some dishes.*****so the owner fired Bobby and the best crew members followed Bobby out the door. Service has gone to shit. Kyle and Mel were sweet bartenders and Bobby kept things running smooth. Now the guy I see trying to run the place (pretty sure it's the owner) looks lost and confused and he needs to get the fuck out and hire someone to replace himself. New bartenders are nice, but new and inexperienced. Bring back Bobby and crew!

Excellent service and COVID protocols clearly marked and followed. Sanitizer available at the door. Excellent food (burgers, sandwiches, salads, etc.) served hot and fresh. It was fairly full for a Thursday evening (happy to see they were getting good business), but not overwhelming where we felt crowded. With all the changes due to COVID, it was nice to dine in again and the quality and service was still maintained along with fair pricing.

We used to visit trails once a month. I was an advocate of Trails Bar & Grill in Big Lake. Not anymore. I've tried reaching the general manager and kitchen manager via email (many times), Facebook, phone, and through the Monticello Chamber of Commerce since August. I haven't received a single response. I wanted to talk with them instead of writing a review, but here we are.My family had breakfast there mid-August. We usually have fantastic food. We drive 15min to get there, and we felt like they had the best food in the area. I've previously left several 5-star reviews.I can honestly say it was one of the worst meals I've had. I ordered the steak and eggs. The steak was slimy, grey, and smelled horrible. After reluctantly trying it and spitting it out, I asked the waitress to please give me a new one and she replied "me and another server both thought that it didn't look right". Please do NOT serve food if it doesn't look right! I have notified the MN Department of Health of this situation; I would have certainly been sick if I ate the steak. The cook said "don't blame me, I just cook the food". What a response. Then the server said it was a new kitchen manager. Additionally, there was a new food supplier. Oh, and the pandemic is causing supply chain issues! Everything else is to blame except the kitchen.Apparently, there was no other steak or it was all the same so I was offered to simply pay for the eggs and potatoes. On top of that, the breakfast potatoes got changed and were lacking any flavor. The eggs were dull, the bread for the toast was made with bread you get from the grocery store.I wasn't offered for the meal to be comped or anything for our troubles. I asked for the manager to come talk with us but nobody did. It's been the best place to eat in Becker/Big Lake/Monticello until now and we really wanted to keep coming... that's why I tried to reach out for 4 MONTHS. We won't be returning though. Please, think twice about visiting Trails in the future. They've changed for the worst.Take some pride in your customer service and actually talk to people when they say there is a problem.

We have stayed away from here unfortunately....They have great food, but a weird interaction w the owner every single time we have gone in......if you aren't a "Regular" .......then there is no interaction....Would rather go to a local restaurant that welcomes EVERYONE and not just the favorites.

John and his staff recently started a breakfast buffet to combat short staff and item availability. My boyfriend and I were super impressed. We wanted a good breakfast with a solid Bloody Mary. We got the ultimate bloody with Absolut Peppar, which was good. The buffet had all the traditional items: bacon, sausage, eggs, biscuits and gravy, breakfast potatoes, and etc. John from the kitchen was out frequently checking on the buffet as it was new to them. He asked us multiple times what they could do to improve and what we liked and disliked. The French toast sticks he described as "fair mini donuts dipped in syrup" and he was right. Very tasty! I believe the buffet was also $11.99 for adults! We will definitely be back. Make Trail's your breakfast destination in Big Lake for sure!
