Local diner with a line at most times. Paper plates & disposable ware... good sized portions. Order at the counter, they give you your number and bring it out fresh. Quick breakfast

I remember liking this place a lot during grad school! I went back and it's just not the same anymore. No more 2 for 1 beers and the food quality as gone down (or I have different standards now idk). The toast wasn't really toasted, the hash browns weren't crispy and the strawberry in the strawberry crisps were not fresh. They're also serving on disposable plates which would be fine if the food didn't soak through. I also thought their water tasted weird. Unfortunately, we had alot of leftovers that we just tossed.

Note: Tony's is a huge piece of nostalgia for me from my college days - we spent our weekend mornings here hungover grabbing breakfast and debriefing the nights before. I'm trying to keep that homey feeling separate from my review for someone who may have not had the same amazing memories here as me!Tony's is a staple breakfast spot in Dinkytown - the greasy diner hole-in-the-wall. This is the place if you're looking for a classic diner breakfast with a basic yet delicious menu. Be warned, if you're coming on a weekend morning it will probably be crowded and seating is limited. You place your order at the register, then grab a number and your food is brought out to a table. It's not super speedy, but I've never really complained about how long the wait is. This time around, I ordered the southwest omelette and my boyfriend got the denver omelette as a breakfast burrito - then we shared a half stack of pancakes. The omelettes here are more on the hard-egg side (less souffle like) which isn't my favorite, but I don't mind much. The southwest is perfect if you're a tomato lover. The pancakes are delicious and fluffy, but not very sweet. I'm not a syrup person but these definitely needed a bit. Hashbrowns are nothing special but they hit the spot - note: they don't really do special orders, I asked for my hashbrowns well-done and they came out normal.Overall, If you're looking for a quick breakfast stop on campus, this is the place!

Tony's has some of the most amazing breakfast I've had in a long time. Located in Dinkytown in the college area. Breakfast is not my fave meal but this place put a smile on my face. It's hard to find good diner authentic quality. This places checks off that box. I ordered a loaded hash brown with mushrooms, onions and tomatoes with avocado toast. Be warned the avocado toast does come with an egg though it wasn't listed. They kindly remade it for me because I can't have dairy. I was even able to order a mimosa at this lovely place. Highlight is the most delightful habanero hot sauce that was made by a local. I wish they sold it by the bottle because I would have bought a couple. The green was my favorite. Everyone at our table enjoyed their food. I will be back on every Minneapolis trip I have in the future.

Very good French toast and eggs at a good price! Tony is great; was my first time going there and he made sure I enjoyed my dining experience there.A couple of guests came in after he left to pick a friend up and they asked the cook if Tony was there. So that right there confirmed to y treats the community like they're his family! Ambiance invites you to enjoy some coffee and get work done in a quiet setting.

Best hot breakfast in Dinkeytown! I want to try other dishes but the Huevos Rancheros is so damn good! I ordered the cinnamon French toast one time and that was damn good too.

I debated on the number of stars to give because the food and how quick they are was really good, but the service wasn't good at all.I ordered a #1 and it was really really good. Everything was as I asked and it just taste good. The place had quite of few ppl in it when I walked it for my pick up order. Parking can be hard in this area, but you're doing pick up, you could just quickly pull up in front of the restaurant (*hazards included) and run in and grab your order. I looked around and thought the place was decently clean. No complaints on cleanliness, especially with the high traffic I would assume they get in Dinkytown. The service I received wasn't good. When I approached the counter, there was a woman working and she knew exactly what I came in for when I said a pick up order, but where it turned weird was when I asked her what is the name of what I ordered (I couldn't remember, since on line it had an actual name like... Tony's Special our something) and she just cut me off with a "Yeah Yeah." So I paused like huh and repeated the question. I'm tickled now about it, but day of ... not so much. haaaaaa We did that 3x and finally she says, "The #1." I had to ask her if she was even listening to me or just trying to speak over me. SMH If everyone else is having great service, then great, everyone is entitled to an off day. I'll still come back, but no one wants to be spoken over and/or brushed off, especially when I'm a paying customer. You can be rude to me, if you don't have my money in your pocket. LOLBVVSI'll try them again one wknd. Hopefully she's having a better day.

Tony's Diner, is I'm sure, a staple at the U. I'm not usually around the Dinkytown area, but a place that serves breakfast all day is like a neon beacon. I got the Basic Tony's breakfast. Eggs, hashbrowns, choice of meat, and toast. The serving size is such that I don't think you'll leave Tony's hungry. It was good, just a regular ole breakfast. Prices are decent and service is fairly quick and friendly. Parking is not the greatest, but loads of public transportation spots around.
