This was our first time visiting Tokyo 23. It was recommended by a coworker when I asked her if she had any recommendations for restaurants in Saint Paul or Minneapolis. We arrived around 2pm on Saturday no wait. When we left at about 3 there was a line out the door! The price of the buffet is very reasonable especially since it also includes pop! The buffet has so many options! The sushi was always full and so many options! I have never seen a vast selection at a buffet. There was dim sum and hot pot and pho!!!! So much more! I really wanted pho or hot pot but was unsure of how to go about getting it. Thankfully while waiting to observe others the person sitting next to us asked our waitress how to do it. I asked and she gladly helped me do it as well! With sushi and dim sum and pho I did not have much room for mush else sadly! We will definitely be back when we are in the neighborhood again. The restaurant was clean and the waitress was attentive! Over the top for a buffet waitress! Parking was easy!

Cool! Sashimi on a sunday brunch.... first time. Nice surprise. They did not have that before. And may just be right timing.

So, we decided to put ourselves out of our misery about guessing how this place would be. Well, the food was at the right temperature, but terribly overcooked. I could not eat any of the crab, as it had disintegrated in the shell. The crawfish tails were somewhat edible with a lot of work to extract them from their exoskeleton. The jello has a really strong flavor, so only take a little bit of it. The fresh fruit was great as a finish to the meal, and was the best part. The service was attentive and quick. Oh, if you get tea, be prepared to have a lot of it. The teapot is deceptively small compared to the amount of liquid it holds. I could have had 6 cups of tea (drank 3), at least, from the one pot brought to the table.Probably won't be back, only because there was so little food that could be eaten with any joy. We were glad that things weren't undercooked, but the overcooking was way too much. Also, this is an expensive buffet for the quality.

I would say an impressive spread, has soft serve, slushy, and seafood as part of the buffet. They also have drinks included in the price too. It doesn't blow your mind BUT it's probably the best you're going to get in MN.I highly recommend this place, we really enjoyed it and will return. The staff is very kind, very busy cleaning up after us, and the ambiance is nice...everyone is pretty spaced out, tables, booths, they have it all.

First time here. It's a big venue with lots of seating in different areas of the restaurant. They have a wide variety of selections for sushi, desserts, noodles, hibachi, hot pot and pho to assemble yourself with the staff to cook it to order. I tried the pho but forgot to take a picture. The mustard green soup was good with white rice. The crawfish, I felt was over cooked that it was hard to take out of the shell without breaking and so with a whole plate, I was many able to eat a handful successfully since it was hard to take off of the shell or that it was black. I didn't try the sushi since it didn't look like it was fresh. The food was ok. Even though they have more selections than 98 Pounds in Bloomington, I feel like 98 Pounds have better flavor and better service as I didn't think was customer friendly to bring out the fortune cookies when I wasn't even done, and we've only been there for 45 minutes. My kids maybe be having desserts but that does not mean that I was finish eating. So that didn't leave a good impression especially the wait staff was on the phone while she was working. It was nice that the music was playing softly in the background and you don't have to shout. The restaurant is clean. This is by far the cleanest bathroom at a Chinese buffet I've been to.

It was really good. The place was clean but the employees didn't help or refill our drinks at all. Crab legs were nice and it was worth the money. I would definitely go back!

We went on a double date for the all you can eat snow crab legs for dinner. We were seated very quickly and the server that took care of our area was so sweet, she did a great job clearing our plates to help keep our table neat and always got us more drinks before us needing to ask. She had a LOT of tables but always had a smile and was so quick to thank us for the littlest things! The food was typical for an Asian buffet, it was pretty busy so it looked relatively fresh to keep up with demands. I haven't been to an Asian buffet since the pandemic so this may be normal now but they had one person dishing the snow crab legs so you would get one cluster per plate. The line was always super long but moved quickly so just stay patient and hang in there. I think because it was cumbersome and more time consuming I definitely didn't eat as much as I normally would which I'm sure is part of the point & to cut down on unnecessary waste.

Superb food and great service. I have to even say the lighting and the atmosphere was really amazing too. Being able to actually feel like I was in Japan. The food is super affordable, and it was my first time, and I am now willing to make this a monthly, if not bi-monthly outing with the wife. I am extremely amazed at the food and the cleanliness and just the overall service they provided. I would totally recommend this location. It may be a tad bit out of the way to get to, but it's definitely well worth the gas money and time to drive to. You would thank me later because if you like authentic asian food, then this is, by far, the best I have ever eaten. I felt like I died and went to heaven 100 times over while I was there. You need to try this place out because if you don't, you seriously will be missing out on the best, most authentic, environmentally ambient time and experience you have ever asked in your entire life.

Wife and I decided to try this place the other day near closing time, and I was incredibly shocked by the quality at closing hour. It was actually warm and great. They have tons of variety and value here. They even have pho! It's not the best but it's actually not bad. For an AYCE, the food is surprisingly not bad at all.

5 STARSService is above excellent, attentive, courteous, quick, friendly. But best of all the food! Hot items were hot and cold items were nice and cold. Many selections to choose from and everything I ate was delicious. Finally a place with food and service above par prior to 2020. Cant beat the price, delicious
