Freezer case with gluten free desserts
They sell cards and crafty things
a blue car parked in front of it
a variety of breads
Outdoor seating where I watched 30 people take a pic of this sign
Magnets
Place is funky inside and out, not sure what the other guy issue was he must be from Duluth

This review is for the gas station/ convenience store section of Tobie's. Our experience with Caribou was positive with very friendly staff. Highlight was the entire freezer that was full of gluten free baked goods. Also had gluten free pizza. Entire bakery case of traditional baked goods as well. Would stop in again!

The pastries are always very good. This review is about their breakfast. We have stopped on our way through to Minneapolis several times over the last few months. The hashbrowns are always underwhelming and underdone. Raw in the middle and a few crunchy spots on top. The steak for the steak and eggs is tough. The sour dough bread is amazing but it's never toasted on both sides. Strangest thing ever. Today I paid $18 for walleye breakfast. I was able to eat the walleye and eggs and once piece of toast. Advice I would give? Stick with an egg or two, some meat choice and toast. Simple. You would get what you paid for instead of chancing it like I do and end up disappointed.

I can say pulling in I had serious doubts about Tobies. It smacked of classic road stops all across America with crafty klitchy places with sub par food you eat out of desperation. Man was I wrong! First I have been wanting really good donuts since moving here from California. This place has great donuts, great pastries and a great selection of bread. In a state of caving cultured crazies no wonder Tobies is a zoo as people load up on there way out of town. The classic glaze, chocolate bar and muffins were sampled by our families and the kids fought to finish the crumbs.Throw in a sample a sample section, a clothing shop, gas station, car wash and antiques as well as a restaurant, this place owns the entire city. My only regret is it is so far away:).

Tobies Station is fine, the one star is for the Caribou Coffee located inside. The slowest service of almost any Caribou barring perhaps the one in the Richmond Airport, in fact it seems they were trained by the same people. How come at this Caribou it takes as long to get a simple house coffee as it does a fancy "hand crafted drink" not to mention the amount of time the staff spends chatting with each other. Granted, I don't understand Midwest charm, I just want my coffee! Perhaps go next door sit down at Tobies Restaurant for your coffee it will take the same amount I am adding two more stars, in the last two stops the service has improved greatly and I would add all the stars but I want to make sure it isn't a fluke. So if the level of service remains this high, I will add the remaining stars! Not a single person in the business was wearing a mask today. WTF!!!

We always stop at Tobie's restaurant on our trips between the cities and Superior, but we rarely go into the gas station. Normally just pump and pay at pump for gas. That changed this week when I decided I wanted an iced coffee. At the restaurant, they explained I'd have to run into the Caribou Coffee embedded in the station. So the station now has a Caribou Branded Coffee Counter. As I was ordering they asked for my perks number which caused me to remember that I had received a coupon for a $1 cold press that morning. When I mentioned that, the clerk asked to see, because they "never sell cold brew for $1". So I whipped out my phone, showed the coupon. What ensued was just poor treatment of a customer. The cashier, saying "that's not right." Then saying something to the supervisor who started very loudly complaining about how they are just a franchisee and they don't get any say and how it is plain wrong, because cold brew costs more to make. Then hurumphing around at the register "well, I don't know how to ring it up!" The manager then saying directly to me, "well we don't have this programmed into our register." I replied that I would wait while they figured it out.Look, I understand that there may be some issues between you and your franchiser. Here's the thing though, you should never make a customer aware of those issues and you especially shouldn't try to make them feel guilty about using a discount to which they are entitled. It took about 10 minutes for y'all to pour and let me pay for my coffee (far more time than it should have), but that 10 minutes felt like 30 because during the majority of that time, one of you was complaining. That my friends is how you insure you won't get repeat business.

The convince store at Tobie's Station has a refrigerated section full of delicious GLUTEN FREE DONUTS and muffins. The donuts are a pack of 2 regular sizedand also dairy free but contain eggs. The Caribou coffee counter has warm gluten free egg soufflés for sale. A good stop for a quick breakfast on the way to the International Wolf Center in Ely Mountain. The counter also sells vegan JUST EGG™, ROASTED TOMATO & PESTO FLATBREAD. 402 Fire Monument RdHinckley, MN 55037United States

Talk about fantastic!!My New Mexico friend stopped in for great coffee and a new coffee mug. A couple of weeks later, she ended up breaking it. As a surprise I wanted to get a replacement and I live in MT. Between the associate, the manager and an admin person, they were able to match my photo with its twin ( which meant searching in the back room ). Thanks to this group effort, a big smile occurred. She already orders her coffee beans from Caribou and now she has her coffee mug too. Many thanks to all of you!!

Tobie's station itself is great; excellent sweet treats, convenient location near highway, lots of gas pumps, friendly service. I give Tobie's station 5 stars. The one star rating is for CARIBOU COFFEE location inside: THE WORST SERVICE ANYWHERE!!! Slow, uninformed associates, completely unorganized chaotic atmosphere behind the counter with associates tripping over each other, incorrect or incomplete orders repeatedly, there is never cream at the self-service station, and on my most recent visit there was NO BREWED COFFEE at 4:00 PM. I post this review after over 10 visits with the same poor service and problems nearly every time. If you are lucky enough to receive the correct drink, it will take about 15 minutes. Do yourself a favor and stop in Pine City at Cabin Coffee instead of Hinckley Caribou, it is worth the couple mile drive off the freeway (it will still be faster than waiting for your order at this caribou.

Just had very bad eggs Benedict. It is the first time I ever ordered it and it did not come with hash browns and the Hollandaise sauce tasted straight out of a can.

I stopped here on my way down to cities for business trip, and stopped to get some coffee from their Caribou shop. Got my drink and after letting it cool off enough to drink, found that there was spoiled milk in my drink. So I complained and talked to the owner. During my conversation with her she blamed me for having a bad drink! She said it was my fault that I had a bad drink because I didn't fix it at the station and that it was not her barista's fault for the bad milk in my drink. She told me that it was also Caribou's fault for the not good quality (because this Caribou is a franchise location) because she said their products were faulty and that it was also their fault that my drink was bad. The owner never once apologized for my bad drink (which I also got sick from) and told me that she would not do anything to make it right/better because I didn't call her store right away. I will never go back to this location because of the absolutely abysmal customer service from the owner, especially from a business owner that scolds their customers when the employees in that business messed up.
