We've been going to Wildwood Tavern for its entire run as we live close and it's reasonably ok. Tonight, the food for the adults arrived and was finished before I was forced to track the server down and ask where the kid's meals were. No apologies were offered and the kid's' meals were finally delivered an additional 10 minutes later - one meal incorrectly and had to be sent back for revision which took an additional 10 minutes. We were charged full price and the only apology offered was from the bartender when I went to pay the bill and explain the situation. We were still charged full price with the only offering of a single, free desert in recompense. In full transparency, until this point, we were willing to overlook the hit or miss quality of the food that has been in decline over the years but this service miss was the end of road for us and it will be some time if ever we return. We are sorely disappointed.

Still our favorite spot to stop at after a bike ride in the area! Today we wanted to try the Spicy Korean Fried Chicken Sandwich but knew we couldn't eat it all. Our smart server suggested splitting the entree-the kitchen split the meal into 2 even parts for us! Thank you WT! We did NOT split or share their nice tap beers!

Hmmmmmm been here a handful of times dining in both indoors and on the patio with a group of 4+. Also have gotten delivery for an easy (lazy) family meal ( :-D ). Okay. First the negative to get it out of the way (who wants a bad taste left on palate?) Several times while dining in, I had to ask for water 4-5 times. Once, I went to the bar, tried to flag the bartender down, as nicely as possible. When he finally acknowledged me, he turned with a "WHAT!?" I responded I just would like a glass of water, and had asked my server at least 3 times and had been waiting for almost 30 minutes. His response was "well, as the server again! I'm busy." Icky taste in mouth, frown and go back to table, feeling dehydrated ...Okay, enough with that surly and dismissive bartender... There is complimentary popcorn that servers provide and the menu is your typical pub fare, but kinda elevated. For example, one of the appetizers is brussel sprouts: which are DELISH HERE! Also, on the menu is a grilled cheese with gouda, swiss, and an acidic and refreshing marmalade (forget actual ingred...), and steak frites with peppercorn butter. Again, it is not a sports pub type of place to get a burger and greasy fries, however, it is no gastropub. It wants to be one, but falls short on execution and...well, ingenuity and personality. So much potential!!!!!!

We had left a negative review from a visit in December I believe. Here is the update. Same server. More attentive. Food was AMAZING. They pumped it out so fast we only got to eat two bowls of popcorn between four of us! It was fab! Thanks.

Family came into town and I'm always looking to bring them to a new restaurant they haven't tried...so why not Wildwood Tavern! Went there on a snowy Wednesday evening and it was quite busy. None of the specials called out to me like in other previous visits. I went to my old favorite the tavern burger on a gfree bun alongside fries. I usually sub the fries for their house salad (which by the way is one of the best side salads out there with mozzarella - woo hoo), but wasn't feeling it. Side note - next time I'm going to ask for their special sauce on the side cause it's delish but it's absorbed into the bun. Other family members had wings, burger and a kids pasta. Everyone enjoyed everything...they will also provide FREE popcorn! The kid loves that. Happy kid, happy mom. We'll be back soon! The service was amazing - courtesy of Amanda! She was on top of everything and so sweet and nice.

Well my kids and I decided:1 star for the music - awesome playlist on the patio! 1 star for service - our waitress was super nice and full of spunk. 1 star for food - Buffalo wings and the steak bites both were delicious. Buffalo wings were saucy and good size the steak bites were tender and flavorful. 1 star for the establishment indoor and outdoor 1 star for drinks Everything was great!

Wildwood in Mahtomedi, MN is a small but mighty tavern off the main street in town. I was joined by my neighbors who gave me the suggestion to come and try! With live music (on Wednesdays), brussels sprouts, and a specialty drink menu, this place was a A+ from the start. All the food was absolutely amazing and made everyone's tummies very happy with our group of 8, the only trouble wasn't they were not able to move tables together. We sat close and could still talk thought. Our server was very kind and helpful. Great outdoor patio and fireplace! I parked on the street outside the restaurant, but there might have been parking in the back. All of our food was amazing!

Stopped here with a friend and grabbed a couple of seats at the bar. The bartenders took quite awhile to ask what I wanted to drink but after that, it was a great place and great service. I had the nachos and it was a surprisingly large portion. Super fresh and reasonably priced. Tough parking but not anyone's fault! Recommend for sure!

Did some small town MN exploring on my trip from KS. I stopped in for breakfast and was greeted by a cool atmosphere, great music, and friendly staff. I ordered the Eggs Benedict on toast instead of an English Muffin. I am not exaggerating when I I say it was divine! The sauce had just the right amount of tangy flavor. The eggs were poached perfectly, and the potatoes as the side were seasoned in order to not need anything else on them. The food aside, watching the staff interact with each other, you could see the ease they have with each other, the enjoyment they have for working together, and that they care. I was personally having a rough day and Marnie was engaged enough to make my day better, to make me feel seen without needing an explanation of why I was crying at my table. If I was staying li her I would go back and try some of their happy hour specials as they all sounded so good! Thank you Wildwood Tavern for my whole experience.
