The Tavern Grill

I met a friend for an easy week night dinner and we enjoyed our time at Tavern. I've frequented the Edina location countless times over the years and was excited to find that there is now a location at Ridgedale!I already had my favorite menu items picked out to order and split: seasoned waffle fries with seasoned sour cream, bang bang shrimp, and thai salad. It was the perfect trifecta. Flavors bursting and everything was perfectly cooked. The location is convenient and the staff was easy, attentive, prompt and friendly. Only one star deduction because the mood/vibe of this location is much brighter and not as cozy as the Edina location. It's more of a bar scene here. Still like the food tho!

This is one of my favorite places to go for lunch or happy hour. The food is always good and consistent. I definitely have my favorites!The service is good and staff is always friendly and helpful. The restaurant is decorated nicely and very clean.

We met some friends for afternoon drinks but the quality was lacking for me. The decor was an upscale tavern, as was the food. I enjoyed that they had a QR code leading diners immediately to an allergen menu! Unfortunately, while there was a variety of gluten-free options, those options also included soy (severe intolerance) so I stuck to drinks. The cucumber basil gimlet was alright. It tasted heavily of cucumber with a hint of gin but the basil was undetectable. As for the spicy mango marg, it was not good. It was heavy on the jalapeno, light on the Tito's, and mixed with a watered-down wannabe mango mixer. I would recommend sticking to the tap cider selections or wines, my gluten-free foodies.

I'm sad to see this restaurant go down hill lately. We came here recently and everything was just a bit off. Now I am giving them some slack because it was dinner on a weekend but still very subpar experience. We tried the "bang bang shrimp" appetizer and I am sad to say it was one of the worst things I have been served in a restaurant in a long time. First of all, visually it did not look like an appetizer; the pile of rice and veggies seemed very out of place. More importantly, and I am not trying to sound dramatic, but it tasted revolting. There was something very unpleasant that I can't put my finger on, either the actual shrimp or the breading. We brought it up to the waiter, he sent the manager over and nothing came of it, not even an apology and she couldn't even tell us what ingredients they use in the breading to figure out the possible cause of the foul flavor.The entrees were much better, although we waited close to an hour for the main course. I am glad I chose to have Alfredo sauce that is usually drizzled on the skewers on the side because that is an odd choice with skewers and it didn't taste good. The Beure Blanc chicken was good and the sauce on that dish is excellent, however the rice that was served with everything we ordered was just ok and the asparagus was flavorless and dry.Maybe we expected too much of this place, idk.. we will be back but to be safe will stick with drinks and waffle fries and basic bar fare.

The only point deduction were the fries! Everything else was amazing. The service, the burgers, the drinks. It's not Kings place but it's good. The garlic aioli wasn't strong, I could barely taste it, but I did have a lot of junk on my burger. The fries got too hard too fast, so I had to pick through them.

Regular American fare. Pretty big space with large booths. A member of my party ordered a salad. The lettuce was not super fresh and was browning which was disappointing. The waffle fries are super good. Decor/design was a bit tacky. I would probably stick to Redstone, also located in the mall, for similar and better food.

I made a reservation here for 16 people . My lunch bunch group . When we arrived the table was ready with table settings, menu and glasses of water. The waitress was wonderful! She explained how they have choices for your salads, burgers and pizza. We are an aged group and I heard no complains regarding the food. Everything looked and tasted excellent. I will definitely return .

We had the fish sandwich and build your own burger. The fish sandwich is HUGE! The ends of the bread were really hard. Our fries were room temperature and hard. When I informed our server, a manager came over right away and got us new fries. Very friendly server!

Whether you're dining with friends or family, the ambiance sets the stage for an enjoyable meal.The service at The Tavern Grill was attentive and friendly. They were prompt in taking orders and ensured that our dining experience was smooth and enjoyable.

A great addition to the Ridgedale Mall area and it really fills a void since the closure of Champps. This location has been vacant forever so it's great that we finally have another great choice in the mall area.Very good selection of food options and I love how they are always rotating their beer taps to local beers. They offer build your own pizza options as well as build your own Bloody Mary's for their Sunday brunch. I have yet to try their Sunday brunch, but it looks very good and I can't wait to check it out.Great happy hour specials and join their club. I think it's a one time fee of $20 and pays for itself after a visit or 2.
