The Stanchion

If you're in the northwest suburbs and need a local watering hole, the Stanchion is a solid choice. Just west of Maple Grove it is a place that is full of both regulars and non regulars on any weekend night. We venture here at least a few times a year and have a blast every time we go! Every Friday the whole bar plays BANKO at 9 and then moves on into karaoke which is always fun to watch. It seems like every evening has something fun, like bingo, meat raffles or karaoke, going on at the Stanchion and there's always pull tabs to play. Drinks are cheap compared to what you'll see at almost any other nearby location. Food is limited to Heggies pizza but Heggies pizza is really the only kind of food you need at a bar!Inside has plenty of space and tables. It appears they've done multiple DIY additions over the years that include a space for darts, party space and patio. Parking is plentiful in the dirt lot with overflow readily available if the main lot is full. It isn't anything fancy but if you're looking for a cheap, unpretentious night out with friends that includes beer, pizza and maybe some bar bingo or karaoke, look no further than the Stanchion!

Such a fun dive bar! Plenty of table space, karaoke, pull tabs, cheap drinks, and bingo/raffle nights. A great time on Friday nights plus plenty of parking (and overnight parking.) *this is review is from my experience pre-covid

I do love this place, but there hasn't been mask enforcement and I know someone who got covid and was walking around the Stanchion so hopefully no one else got it.

I've been going to this bar for YEARS. I've always loved this place and the bartender have always been kind to me and I've always loved coming here however this night has been very different. On a Thursday night I came in the bartender was so rude and pretentious and I've never felt more unwelcome and rudely. I don't know if this guy was full in but honestly he shouldn't be in customer service role.

I sat the bar all night and old ass blond said it was last call and never said it was time. She was rude all night and their sound system wasn't great. Would not go again nor recommend.

Tables pulled up to the bar limits seating at the bar. Nice for small friend groups conversations but a single customer doesn't have a seat other then locking down an entire table. Strange, never seen that. Had one and done as a result.

Fun, Fun , FunSo much going on. We were there on a Saturday late afternoon... syringe Jell-O shots, meat raffle, other video contests.Later Karaoke. I need to go back to experience it all!

horrible service, owner cares less besides grabbing staff. thinks he's better than you and wants you to pay cash, terrible service and ownership

One of the best bars I've been to! Love the events that they put on and the delicious pizza/food they serve

Not the first time according to many who have frequented this bar ... But. a recent patron who I was with at this bar was drugged. Someone put something in his drink and he is suffering the consequences, going on three days. This happened this past Saturday. While no one who works at the bar is responsible, allegedly, what a sad situation. This establishment doesn't take any responsibility for this, of course. But it happens at this bar more often than people report. Forewarned.
