The Shack

Not great. We were staying at the hotel next door, so tried it for convenience. Drinks were good, food barely average, and barely warm. Service was ok, but would not recommend.

The food was misleading but tasty....calling chuck roast "brisket" is Texas sacrilege! The flavor is good, but selling a lower end cut as brisket is misleading - cheese curds were very good, service was awesome, and the beer selection was perfect! If the owners could sell real brisket, and charge more....you could have something, like I said, the flavor is good.

Looking for a place to grab a quick bite to eat while staying in Superior, we came across The Shack. I said no at first because it looked like a depressed bar but what set it to a yes instead was the glorious smell that wafted from the restaurant during the afternoon before we went while they were freshly smoking their meats. So when the decision came to find a place, we said why not? We came on a Friday, which was even better, because we were able to take advantage of their Friday fish fry. I looked on Yelp to see what we should order while here and the fish fry got a lot of mentions so we decided to try that and some of their BBQ.The fish fry was worth the mention. It was AYCE but I would be surprised if you could want more after the first plate with their generous portions sizes. The fries were in-house hand cut and covered with Parmesan cheese. The fish was crispy on the outside and flaky on the inside. It was a great Up North-style fish fry.The BBQ was very good as well. I tried the pulled pork sandwich and it came on a giant bun. Once again, the portion sizes were very generous. The sandwich came with a side of homemade BBQ sauce but honestly the meat had such a good flavor I didn't even need to add any to the sandwich. I have to give them a thumbs up for making many of their items like sauces and sides in-house even though it seemed like they could get away with less quality for being a small town bar & grill. This place really hit the spot, we were looking for no frills comfort food, and that is exactly what we found at The Shack. Price point vs. portion sizes were great and the service was small town friendly and prompt. Looks can be deceiving but The Shack isn't the dumpy bar I thought it was at first and I am glad we gave this place a shot.

Really good food, unique menu items with great service. But it's still a bar, so casual.

The Shack was a new stop for us as we come to Superior a few times a year. Of the beaten path, as some would say, The Shack has plenty of room for big groups as well as couples to enjoy a decent meal. The bar setting looked nice as well. The service as timely and accommodation. There were decent selections on the menu and all items were fairly well priced. The smoked wings were very tasty. The nachos were aplenty and flavorful. The Firecracker Wrap was very tasty. And the fries were excellent, especially with the add-on option of Parmesan cheese. Plenty of parking. A nice place to visit if you are in the area.

A unique neighborhood bar. The service was amazing. They had a call off but the college kid behind the bar was super friendly, prompt and apologetic. He was really on top of it and that made us enjoy the experience. Food was decent but not the best. Should have tried the brisket that was made in house I think that would have been better. The drinks were well made and refreshing. Place could have been a little cleaner. It wasn't very busy for a Saturday night.

they usually have their homemade Caesar dressing for their salad which is amazing . this time they were out of it . and in addition to that there was a small spider crawling around my salad . I usually love coming to the shack and have for years . idk if it's the ownership or the ethic overall but it's on a steady decline .I have to boycott this place now which sucks but there is zero consistency lately . I've been going here for several several years and it's been declining in quality for a long time now . I hope they get it together and figure out their issues because I would love to come back.

Service was alright, didn't have the table clean, but offered to wipe it down. It wasn't busy, so I was surprised it wasn't done. We had the ribs, Mac and cheese and pulled pork sandwich. I do not recommend. Most of the flavor was from bbq sauce and the noodles had a funny taste. Let down. I should have known, the place only had about three table occupied.

Unfortunately this place just finds new ways to disappoint. Really wish they could figure it out but every change they make backfires for me. Mold in the ice, brutal food more than 50% of the time. Less is more sometimes on this side of the bridge and the Shack is great at pouring them stiff but the food is below average

Wonderful food and service was great! Would highly recommend the ribs, best my husband ever had!! Pulled pork was good as well, accommodated my strange requests without any issue! Would go back next time I'm in superior!!
