If you go there in a truck, make sure they didn't spill anything in the back of your truck. I dropped off a bunch of paint and the crew was throwing paint cans and dumped paint thinner in the back of my truck and didn't tell me about it. I found out when I got home and everything they wouldn't take is covered in paint thinner, along with my truck and bed liner. The ability to recycle is awesome and besides this time, I've always had a good experience.

I had some old paint and other chemicals in my garage to get rid of, so I stopped here. I arrived at 9:45am on a Wednesday. It was easy to find, and once inside the yard, there were many signs telling me exactly where to go. The guy at the check-in shack was nice and friendly; he checked my id, then told me which lane to go in. There was no one ahead of me, so I pulled up, the staff opened my trunk, took my items, and closed it. I was finished within 4 minutes of arriving!

Wow this was a super easy process. I checked their website ahead of my visit to make sure everything I needed recycling was accepted. Most things are free, except tires and tvs, I think. I had old batteries, small appliances, ink cartridges, gas, and even a propane tank! Just show your ID, tell what you're bringing in and you don't even leave the car. Just put it all in the trunk/hatchback. They do the rest. I don't think I was there a total of 4 minutes. Awesome service for those who live locally!

I love that this resource exists in my community. The staff is knowledgeable and always helpful. They run a well-oiled machine!Tip: look up what they take BEFORE you go. They can only take certain items and some thing incur a cost. Be kind to the workers and sort your materials if you can...it'll make your trip much faster.

Seriously the best county program for recycling everything, proper household hazardous waste disposal, & a great resource for what to do with things you just have no idea what to do with. This location has evolved from 1 guy in the back of Gopher to a great educational, environmentally beneficial Zone. Mark & all the folks are working so hard to protect our planet. Please see their website or call for information on what they can take. They will unload your car. Lines are usually short, weekends are the busiest in the spring or summer. Don't save up for years, just take a quick trip there every season! Bring your drivers license for drop off (it helps get more funding, by showing how used the facility is). They also have reuse area, where good material is available free for the taking.Come check this place out, even if you don't have anything to bring in. There is limited parking available, but you can park, look around ask questions & see their xeriscaping.

They are still at! Denying everything that shows up. Plastic? Nope! "We only take food grade plastic" OK into the landfill my #5 plastic goes. They literally told me "that's just going be to trash." Why even have the name "Recycle" in the business name? I know for a fact #5 plastic can be recycled, Dakota County justs wants it in a landfill. Good luck Burnsville residents.

I just had a horrible experience there. The folks working there were rude and very condescending. I brought a bunch of electronics to recycle in a bin because I didn't have a box and they refused to give my bin back. I left with the electronics because I needed the bin. On top of it all the workers were very insulting to me. I would not recommend going there unless you absolutely have to! They are very inflexible. You'd think as a taxpayer one would get some level of nice service but that is not the case. Be prepared to be disappointed!

I don't know why people are whining about this business and giving bad reviews. They have to follow compliance issues and if you do your research ahead of time, there should be no issues. It's true they don't take certain types of plastic, same with my garbage/recycling pickup at home. It is what it is.And yes, large quantities will throw a red flag and as a taxpayer, I appreciate that. I would call ahead, talk to the manager and have a name when I go there so they know I already informed them of the situation. The pain in the rafters could have been from someone that owned a paint business prior to you purchasing the home. It should have been removed by the previous homeowner.I think this is a great service and I use it so I can give things that others might need to use.

Went there today with about 30 cans of paint they were left in the rafters in my garage by previous homeowner , so the young kid comes up and says I have to get my boss so the boss comes out and starts lifting each paint can and sits them back down I said they were left in my garage up in the rafters , the guys looks at me like I'm lying and the kid says oh they must be pretty big rafters . Like wtf isn't this what they do ? So the boss says I guess we can take it so I helped unload and thanked the young rude kid twice and he wouldn't even look at me . Kid was a little prick but I'm sure the boss must be also to let his employees act like this -
