Chocolate chip cookie ($2.50), vegan by default. Terrible. Has some weird flavor to it. Hard to describe.
Chocolate banana bread ($2.50). Decent, but not amazing. It was slightly dry. I liked all the chocolate chip chunks though.
Coco nilla pie slice ($5). Okay, but has that distinct "raw" taste.
Seating area
Lemon Supreme pie ($7), vegan by default. Delicious. Subtle, tart and fresh.
Sunflower peanut butter cup ($3), vegan by default. Rich and delicious.
Menu
Chocolate sun butter bar ($4). Delicious.
Pecan bar ($6), vegan by default. Decent but definitely has that "raw" flavor to it.
The bar and menu
Sugar free tag-a-long ($6), vegan by default. Delicious. Excellent texture and sweetness.
Vegan cinnamon roll ($5). Good. Not too sweet.
Interior seating during fall - cozy!
From left to right: iced Americano, iced butterscotch latte, hot white chocolate mocha with raspberry, hot butterscotch latte
Almond joy base ($5). Not bad, not amazing.
Bagel with vegan nacho cheese ($6). Tasty.
Tag along bar ($3), vegan by default. Superb. Not too sweet. Rich. Fresh.
Brown sugar sage latte + juice shot
Chocolate chip walnut scone ($3). Weirdly bland.
Such a calming atmosphere

Thirteen years after my first review of The Raw Deal, I'm adding a star and making it a rare 5-star winner in my book. It's an unusual place, serving uncommon foods, in a lovely space and has somehow kept going for well over a decade. You wouldn't expect to find a mostly-raw vegan coffee shop in a small town in northern Wisconsin (about 1 hour and 15 minutes east of the Twin Cities). The shop itself is in a beautiful Victorian building with high ceilings and lots of character. I usually stop by on my way to/fro Chicago and Minneapolis. Most of the desserts are excellent, though occasionally you get a dud.The last time I visited, the chocolate chip cookie ($2.50) was terrible, with a weird, hard-to-describe flavor. It wasn't a raw cookie; it was baked. The pecan bar ($6) tasted okay, but definitely had a raw flavor to it.I loved the rich and delicious sunflower butter cup ($3) and superb, lightly sweet tag along bar ($3).It's amazing to me how they can make such sophisticated desserts and charge so little. Their coffee drinks are good and you can also get loose-leaf tea.Stop by The Raw Deal for something special.

If your in Menomonie and want something local...this is THE spot! Their espresso is fantastic and their food is also. Everything is raw not baked which is super cool to begin with. They also have beer and kombucha on tap if that's what your feeling. Stop in and hang out for awhile. You won't be disappointed!

My favorite coffee shop in the Chippewa valley. Fresh roasted coffee in house. Always friendly and cozy. Loved to study here when I was in school, now love the nostalgia and bring projects.

I went to college in Menomonie and I usually return to campus once a year. When I return, this is a must stop on my list due to the pretty ambiance, open floor plan, upstairs seating, cozy couches, big bathrooms, sporadic farmers markets (check out their social media pages for dates) friendly staff and an overall feeling of warmth. This is a great place to journal, meditate, read, gather with a friend and the food and drinks are top notch. I recommend dining in to get the full experience but I also highly recommend taking home a few of their cooked meals/ treats (IE: peanut butter ball, slice of vegan cake or a burrito wrap) in the fridge section as you leave. If you enjoy coffee shops, this is a must see! Don't leave without getting a fresh pressed juice shot. So easy and fulfilling not to mention good for you! Note: this is not a restaurant. It's mostly drinks. The drinks are top notch, unique, and made with love.

Good place for coffee and a bagel. I love that they're open seven days a week (most places in Menomonie are not). I'm also a big fan bottomless coffee they offer, too.

Great coffee shop that also carries juices, smoothies, raw vegan desserts, beer, and wine! The Repair juice tasted amazing as well as the piece of pie we had (lime something). The vibe of this place was something else too. They had several talented college students set up there with their art wares available.

Love, love Raw Deal. I love that they have juice shots! I had Bright Eyes sans garlic and the Sucker Punch. Their featured muffin was raspberry and their featured latte was a pumpkin pistachio. Both were super good. There is almost always a wait but really cool place to wait. Sat on the couch in the sun which felt great on a cold fall day.
