We stopped into the Park Cafe that is one of the very few restaurants that have been in business for decades. Perk Cafe has been here since the 1920's.They open at 6AM, and of course there is a table of old duffers swapping stories over coffee. We had the Turkey Swiss melt with a cup of turkey vegetable dumpling soup that was like home made. And then we had pie! We had four different kinds of pie. All delicious. They use the right amount of cinnamon and nutmeg says my wife. Braham is the official Pie Capitol of Minnesota.Visiting a busy restaurant in a small town is a slice of life.

I can't speak to their other meals/offerings, but I had a fantastic and memorable breakfast special here (2 pancakes, scrambled eggs, and sausage links) with a friend at this small town cafe located right along main street. It's what you expect. It's a happening place. There were folks from two different churches meeting and eating here, plus a lot of other local patrons. It's where the locals eat. There aren't a lot of options in town. The food was done perfectly, the pancakes were light and delicious. Our server, Kelsey, was smiling, pleasant, responsive, and friendly. Everyone in Braham talks about the pie. I'd like to stop back to try the pie.

Tough review really.Stopped in for lunch with mi madre as it's the only cafe in Braham and I'm always down to try a little cafe in a small town. Service was great, as you'd expect in these little places. Ordered a chicken sandwich and my mom ordered a California burger. Brief wait, my coffee cup never got empty which was nice considering the weather. Food arrives... and horribly underwhelmed. My "grilled" chicken patty appeared to be one of those pre-grilled and nuked frozen patties that lacked any sort of flavor. A bite of the burger was just as disappointing. At least we had crinkle cut fries to go with the meal though, right? Those, even from a freezer bag are hard to make me pissed off about. But, after the meal, I get asked if I want some pie. Well, I know Braham is known for pie and they tout this in town a lot. So, I say why the hell not? Dutch Apple? Lay it on me. Cream? Bet your country ass I want some cream on that slice of pie.Slice comes out, still warm even, was just amazing. The crust and crumbles were amazing, the filling was a perfect mix of brown sugar, apples and cinnamon. Then, something I wasn't expecting, a little zing at the end of it all. Not a major thing, a subtle little tarty sourness. I called the waitress over to ask... was that lemon zest - so faintly - in the mix? A smile and stroll away confirmed my suspicion. Tricky! The cream on top added a wonderful extra flavor and, really, made the entire stop in worth it.How to rate?Food = 1Pie = 5Service = 5They have bendy straws and local high school sports stuff on the wall = round up to a 3.

Stopped in for breakfast on our way up north. Nice small town cafe, very quaint. Wanted to try the Haystack and was pleased to see they offered a half order for Seniors (55 +), which was the perfect amount. Service was OK, a little slow with the coffee, but otherwise good.

Park Cafe is on 'main street' in a quintessential small-town and reminded me of my 'trips to town' from my grandparents farm when I was a kid.The burger was excellent. It was a 'small-town burger' - I think they are fried instead of put on a grill? Coffee was mediocre. The pie was good. I was expecting great, considering this is the 'Pie Capital of Minnesota'. But good. I was there for a weekday lunch, so I might have had a piece from the dinner service the night before.

We usually love this place but not on this particular morning. We asked for pancakes with extra, was delivered a pancake with no butter. A different person did bring out butter but I have never received a pancake with zero butter. We asked for hashbrowns with onions, received hashbrowns buried under country fried steak smothered in gravy and onions were on top of that, not a single onion mixed in with the hashbrowns or even touching the hashbrowns. We asked for additional water (meal was nearly over before she came to see how things were) and we had to wait for her to complete a few other tasks before bringing a glass of water, by which time the meal was finished and food stuck in our throat because of no water. Normally this place is great but this was staff we had not see before so perhaps they need more training.
