Nicollet Island Inn delivered an absolutely charming and romantic Valentine's Day experience. From the moment we arrived, the ample parking made things stress-free--a rarity in Minneapolis. The ambiance was intimate, with soft lighting and a cozy, historic feel that set the perfect tone for the evening. The four-course meal was well thought out and executed beautifully: * Bruschetta - A fresh, flavorful start with perfectly toasted bread and vibrant toppings. * French Onion Soup - Rich, savory, and packed with deep caramelized onion flavor. The melted cheese on top was the perfect touch. The onion soup was average. * Filet Mignon Medallions & Pan-Seared Halibut - Both entrées were cooked to perfection. The filet was tender and juicy, while the halibut had a gorgeous sear with a delicate, buttery texture. * Chocolate Cake - A decadent and satisfying end to the meal. Rich, moist, and exactly what you want for dessert on Valentine's Day. Another average dish. The cocktails were also top-notch, well-balanced, and crafted with attention to detail. Service was warm and attentive without feeling rushed, making the evening feel extra special. If you're looking for a romantic and elevated dining experience in the Twin Cities, Nicollet Island Inn is a fantastic choice. We'll definitely be back for another special occasion!

The service was good albeit a bit slow waiting ten minutes when there were at least ten tables open. I felt bad for waiter as he was all alone. This seems odd for a popular place in downtown. The diner has that old time diner feel and actually kind of reminded me of a Dennys lol. Was quant and clean. The food for the price is just ehh. It's diner food and 30 bucks for beer battered cod? I would rather get salmon somewhere else for the same or cheaper. It also was just average and they were out of a lot of things too.

A 24-hour old-fashioned diner in the middle of one of America's finest cities, right across from my hotel? Yes, please. Thanks to the Hyatt Hotel staff for directing me to this throwback venue. It is clean and fun to people-watch due to its vast windows. The diner has a counter and tables. The staff was so kind and friendly. Yelp had a discount within their venue listing, and the owner (Max) honored it. He is a good guy too. I elected their Club Sandwich and fries, and they got my special requests right, which made me happy after a long travel day. The sandwich was delicious, heaping portion, and I loved the fries.

The ambiance had an old diner feel. No frills in this joint. It's clean, and not loud at all. The service was pretty solid as well. This is my first time in the Twin cities, so the servers were nice enough to offer local fare suggestions. Huge knock for not honoring the Yelp coupon, and even suggesting it was a scam. The food was hearty and pretty tasty. I enjoyed my omelette, pancakes, and the local Cry Baby Craig's hot sauce. My spicy Bloody Mary was decent as well. My Hash browns were a big let down though. Even dressed with fixings, it was flavorless. This is a solid recommendation for a late night binge or a no frills meal.

This 24 hr Diner was located across the street from our hotel so we were able to conveniently walk over whenever we were in the mood for some tasty food! Though the down side is that they take a long time...both times that we've gone, there was either 1 or 2 servers for the entire restaurant floor and it would be hectic with the amount of parties coming in as well. If you have the time to sit and wait for the food or even to have your order taken, I definitely would try them out! We got their Frickles (Fried Pickles), Poutine, and Chicken Wings with Dry Jerk Seasoning. The fried pickles were delicious paired with their ranch sauce. My second favorite was their chicken wings which were huge! It's only 5 pieces but it's including the drum stick and wing together. Overall, their food is delicious and if we're ever back, we'd come back to try their other goodies. The ambiance is an old school diner vibe. There are shows on certain days on the rooftop/upstairs. There's a security guard that checks IDs at the door as well.

I visited Nicollet Diner for the first time on a Sunday morning. The exterior of the building is massive. Two stories plus a roof top patio/lounge. Inside you will find Nicollet Diner, Roxy's Cabaret, and On The Rox. The Diner portion of the space is actually kind of small but has a fair amount of tables plus a nice sized horseshoe breakfast bar as well as a small liquor bar. The service was very friendly. Food came in a timely fashion and the server checked back on us regularly. The food was pretty solid. My expectations were higher as I love good greasy diner food. Everything was pretty well seasoned (very salty) but the portions seemed kind of small given the price. Even in today's economy it seemed pretty steep. I would absolutely go back and try out some more items. It's a great breakfast spot with a great old timey diner feel. Actual rating would be 3.5/5

A welcome Late night/early morning oasis after a night of imbibing. I had the hangover special. The gravy and scrambled eggs were the rock star. The ham was good however the bacon and sausage links were overcooked. On balance a good place to stop after a night on the town.

Only been there late-night, so I haven't tried much of the menu. Service has always been great. The poutine is awesome! More than I could eat, with your own choice of gravy. Sausage gravy is the way to go! Good beer options and the prices were fair.

Went here for lunch today. Old time diner feel. Tucked away in downtown. The host was very warm and welcoming. Sat me down right away. It was a little after the lunch rush hour so wasn't terribly busy. Asked him for recommendations and he was very helpful.I went with the fish and chips and a half strawberry milkshake. The fish was flaky and fried well. Not too creasy with a little crispy crust and soft inside. There wasn't a lot of seasoning in the batter but the tartar sauce helped with the flavor. The fires were good. Hot, crispy and soft polity on the inside. The coleslaw was a good accompaniment. The shake was tasty and almost two glasses worth even though I had ordered half.My only complaint would be that they seemed short staffed and I saw my shake sit at the counter for a good few mins and I had to finally ask about it after my meal came to get it.I was stuffed by the end of the meal. Not a bad meal but it was quite expensive considering and the service could have been a little more attentive though I understand that they seemed clearly understaffed.

Misleading review, not open for dine-in until 7 am. Delivery or pickup from a sketchy window around the corner of the main entrance. Walked from hotel in -12 F to find this out.
