The Mudd Room

My first visit to The Mudd Room last night for an acoustic gig. After some googling to confirm, Mudd Room is below the Lucky's 13. When you arrive there Mudd Room is painted on the east side of the building above a small four space parking lot. Fear not; you can park on the west side of the building, also an overflow lot right there as well, a few spaces on the street in the front or across the street from there is designated parking. I entered through the west side of the building that noted Lucky's, fear not, when I entered and told the host I was looking for the Mudd Room she gave me precise directions to get downstairs! Once downstairs I came upon the nice single toilet ladies room. I proceeded in to the bar, asked the blonde bartender where the music would be? She pointed to the stage @ the end of the bar and said it could be loud right by the speaker so she'd recommend sitting a few tables away. She said the parties near the stage were tabbing out if I wanted to sit there? I said I would take a seat @ the end until they were through. Shortly after I sat down the very friendly brunette server brought me a glass of ice water... thanks! She remained attentive all night, filling my water three times. Despite not looking over the menu she was very thoughtful when she popped by just to say it was last call for the kitchen, did I want anything? I meant to get the gals names, I did not, sorry. Music wasn't too loud; the acoustics and lighting were great since the speakeasy is already dimly lit. I don't anticipate this was my last visit; very much looking forward to catching another gig here or meeting friends for drinks! The friendly and attentive service are my number one fast and hard rule for a venue... no matter how good or bad the drinks or food are.... they 90% determine if I will return. These two knocked it out of the park... thank you for such a welcoming and attentive inaugural visit, cheers!

I love that I discovered this place. I have been going to Lucky's for years and did not realize this existed. I came around the holiday period and they offer fun festive holiday drinks. By the time we arrived, they were no longer selling small bites. The entertainment for the night was a live band. I enjoyed a few songs and then ended up night upstairs at lucky 13.

I attended The Mudd Room on a Wednesday during the comedy sessions. It was so much fun! I loved the lighting and the cozy feeling the place had. I definitely want to go back. It got pretty busy and was hard to get staff's attention as the space is a bit tight and long in length. The staff are super friendly. I had a flatbread and some tasty seasonal cocktails!

We loved the intimate speakeasy vibes of the Mudd Room. A somewhat hidden gem connected to Lucky 13's. Antique phone with "secret access" code was a fun start. Dim, swanky atmosphere with limited seating. We had a short wait at 6pm for a cozy booth with a great view of the live jazz band there on a Friday night. My partner is an avid bourbon hunter and enjoyed the selection including Pappy Van Winkle and Blanton's. The menu includes small plates and dessert. We were impressed with the food especially for the value. Great service too! We'll be back!

The menu is limited and, if I'm being honest, the food is probably only worth 3-4 stars. But you aren't coming here for the food - the fact they even have food, is a bonus and when you talk to your friends the next day about how much fun you had last night, you won't mention it. You'll talk about the awesome service, drinks, ambience and the live music - which is consistently VERY good. It's small and seating is limited. Get there 30-60 minutes before the music starts for seating...then enjoy the show!

The atmosphere at the Mudd Room is terrific. It's great for a romantic date or a chill night with friends. This is everything a speakeasy should be. I would give Mudd Room a five if my drink ("Ma Barker") was good but it was pretty strong and not the greatest cocktail...I wish I chose something else. I was surprised it wasn't good because the waitress recommended it to us. It had an after taste of cough syrup.The service was not the best either...we got there and weren't greeted by anyone and it was a little awkward as we were just standing there a bit/not knowing what to do (no signs indicating seat yourself). We ended up finding a random uncleaned table and sat down. The waitress came over to clear the tables and then came back again asking if we were ready to order. However, we didn't even have menus yet...She didn't really check up on us after we got our drinks either. This might be an under-staffed issue but still...I expected more service-wise since other speakeasies I've been to usually have great service.Still giving this a 4/5 despite the gross drink and crappy service because the live music and ambiance were great.

Great ambiance, good apps and fun drinks. My first time checking this place out and I will definitely be back. We got the pleasure of listening to the J Train band and I was so impressed.

Service and atmosphere are great. Saw Jeff Gavins Band. Outstanding music. Best act they've had there. Jeff has incredible "range", and sang lots of popular oldies. Fast paced show with continuous music and very little chatter. The best act we've seen there, and we've seen quite a few.

Love this place! Great ambiance. We typically go when they have music. Great food and even better service.

Such a cool place! Would recommend to anyone. Great drinks and great food!Love the fact that they have live music at times.
