Giving three stars due to our initial service. We had a large group, and tables were open, the sassy waitress said we could wait while she cleans them and have those tables, so we waited only to be told by her that she's unsure if we can have those tables now. After 15mins of waiting, seriously? To top it off, she had quite the attitude. She went to find the manager to see if we could indeed, sit at the three open tables - after waiting some more, the manager said we could have them after an additional 30min wait - because the section had too many people.First of all, I wouldn't have even waited the first 15mins had I know all this from the start - we would've just went to the bowling side first.I told the manager that we were going to go to the bowling side, to which he replied they are also busy so we probably won't get a spot - literally a 2min wait and we were set with three lanes. The good part - our waitress at the bowling alley, she was great and the bowling staff was super helpful and nice! After about 30mins, the manager comes to find us at the bowling alley, to ask us if we wanted those tables again...uh no, we are already seated? So when I said no thank you, he laughed in annoyance and walked off.

Stopped in for some appetizers and a beer with my wife. The food came out very quick and the boneless wings where great as well as the sauce was good. The onion chips where good but they forgot the dipping sauce. Our bartender took good care of us. We will comeback with our kids to try bowling and axe throwing in the future.

The service was slow for a Saturday. There was one bartender and one person delivering food. My husband was given a paper to write down his food order. My friend was told she was going to get Pepsi because the bartender didn't want to run to the back to get Dr. Pepper. The food was OK. The tater tots were crispy. I thought the cheese curds was OK, but my two friends dislike it because it was "doughy." My friend ordered the wild rice soup. We tried it and it was un-flavorful. Otherwise the place looks good to meet with friends. They have an event center downstairs.

Old school burgers, booze, and bowling - a solid 3.The Mermaid has been around forever, a true icon of the northern burbs. I really can't say much that hasn't already been said. And if you're from the Twin Cities and if you're over 40, chances are you've been here before. After a long hiatus, I stopped for lunch yesterday with a buddy that lives nearby. The food was good. It's about what you'd expect from a Sysco truck. There's a large bar. They have a giant bowling alley and it was pretty busy for a Thursday afternoon. I guess there are 2 really distinctive things about the Mermaid: the bowling alley and the huge square footage of the building itself. The big footprint makes it an ideal venue for special events. One thing I can say that really stood out was the service. Our server was very good. Our food came out fast & hot. Our drink orders also shot out to us quickly. We had fun playing 70s rock on the jukebox. It seemed to fit.-Daddy Maxx Retro

Came here for the first time for a relaxing Girls' night out with some friends. Overall the service was okay (bartender/bar service could be slow- definitely need to be aggressive/wave the bartender down) and the food just meh. Although I'm giving it 3 stars, I would come back since it is an convenient location for me and I appreciate the food being more than just pizza like most bowling alleys. When we came here on a Friday night it was all you can bowl for $13.99 which was nice since we played 3 rounds. But I also don't bowl often so I'm not sure if that was a good deal lol the bowling alley had great music- lots of 80s, 90, and 2000s throwbacks which we needed for a Girls' night out! Next time I would look more into the happy hour specials and bowling specials!

This bowling alley has been here since I was a kid. I have come here many times throughout the years. They have a restaurant attached to the bowling alley and also a hotel right next to it. It is very easy to find from the road!I came here on a Saturday morning before 12 pm to get a $2 per game prices. Not a bad deal! Show rentals are around $3.50 though, so if you have your own bring them! The lanes themselves were find and the seating was fine. When you come on a Friday or Saturday night though, it can be very busy. You may have to wait to get a lane. And it will be a little cramped.Overall this is an average bowling alley, nothing too fancy. The workers seemed friendly. I can't say anything about the food because we didn't get any. Before you go, check and see what days and times are cheaper!

Ok didn't want to get involved, but i told myself, after the threat was made that i would. My wife and I were there tonight and I saw what happened as I was sitting literally behind them. So i watched our fave baretnders get broken down yet again. The bartenders did whatever this group asked for and from what I can gather they got stiffed on an almost $100 tab. The tall guy said some that was passive about not getting a tip, but that was the end of it Later, There seemed to be a situation growing outside of the bar and a manager was handling it. The patrons had numerous male members come up to the bar, in what seemed like an attempt to threaten the staff, all to "talk"about what happened. Both bartenders, at one point, were dealing, but the shorter one, came back and said all was well. A few minutes later, I witnessed one of the members of the party come up and order a couple pitchers of beer and when he walked away I watched him spit on the floor while he walked towards his lane. My wife and I were so disgruntled at this point in time merely from watching the events unfold. The bartenders were clearly besides themselves over something that I would have thought to be a minor issue. Let's be honest. Since Covid, respect has been lost in the service industry. But tonight was the first time I thought two bartenders would have to defend themselves from, not drunks, but from sober people, physically. We really thought there would have been an actual brawl. She wanted to leave, so we closed and left. It was not a good feeling when we were walking out. The stress was rampant.
