This place is the absolute cutest! The fact it used to be an actual home gives it the coziest vibe! We were here for their special Valentine's Tea and were blown away. Wr had a reservation for 6pm, but due to weather and traffic we ended up being super late. We called to let them know and they were super kind and understand. The food and tea were absolutely phenomenal! Thehe Charcuterie in a tea cup was cute and tasty. The scones raspberry white chocolate & vanilla cream with sweet cream, spiced berry jam, and lemon curd were perfectly sweet and crumbly. The savory course had a delightful array of options. And the TEA!!! They have an incredible selection of flavors and varieties. Plus, herbal (caffeine free) options. This is place I would go back to time and time again.

If you're hoping to check this place out for the tea experience and dress up then I would say 4/5 and still recommend you to try it once if Bridgerton is your vibe. But overall the price, bland food and wow factor wasn't there for me that I feel like a 3/5 stars is the fair from my experience. The decor was nice but i did expect more. The tea selection was nice and it is nice to have endless tea during your meal.I did go during the Christmas tea time so it was a limited already selected menu. It is nice to get a little bit of something sweet and something savory- just wish there was a little bit more savory options.I was here for a friend's bday and they did charge us $6 to bring in a cake from outside and serve it in.Our server was a young woman who was very friendly and even took group photos for us and let us stay longer than 2 hours. I also appreciated the to go dessert box that's apart of the Christmas tea service. Not bad but also not good. Not really the place for groups larger than 4 due to limited seats/space- it is pretty much inside a house. There is a free parking lot out front.

Had a fun Galentine's brunch with a group of friends and had a wonderful experience! Such a beautiful atmosphere with just as beautiful food. Our server was very attentive and kind! Cinnamon Roll - 8/10 soft on the inside, crispy on the outside. Deliciously topped with cream cheese frosting! A beautiful edible flower for presentation. Yum!Apple Pumpkin Stuffed French Toast - 10/10 HUGE servings and oh so delicious!!! I didn't need the syrup since the French toast was sweet enough alone. The pumpkin on the inside was sooooo good! I took my left overs home and I can't wait to finish it later. Breakfast Potatoes - probably one of the best breakfast potatoes I've had! There's a mix of normal potatoes and sweet potatoes. I've never had a mix of breakfast potatoes like this before but I definitely enjoyed them! Perfectly crispy. Would come again!

The Mad Hatter delivers a dainty and elegant experience with fragrant tea by the teapot, and tea party cuisine that is surprisingly very nice! I am a coffee person, and don't identify as a big tea party fan per se. But wow, this place is awesome!Dainty and elegant: You will drive through a gait and park in the lot of this riverside estate. As you walk up the steps of this nineteenth century abode you will feel more and more like a socialite. Indoors you are greeted and sat at a table. You will observe that your teacup is unique, as is every cup at every table!Fragrant tea by the teapot: from the selection of black, green and herbal tea we opted for the Jasmine and the Holdiay Tea. Tea is perfect every time due to an analog hourglass timer, see photo. . Tea party cuisine: think charcuterie with more gluten. Tiny sandwiches without crust have have clear flavor and pair wonderfully with hot tea. Scones accompanied by sturdy, tart jams met with slurps of jasmine tea and threw a miniature party on my palate. Tiny cups of wild rice hot dish provide a minuscule amount of familiar Minnesotan comfort, like "one warm spark in the heart of an arctic crystal."Tips: - check out the gift shop upstairs before you leave- If you're unsure which tea to choose, the jasmine tea really paired nicely with everything!- the city of anoka is extremely festive; Mad Hatter is one of its many great places to visit around Halloween and Christmas time.- other MN tea party options: St Paul Hotel, Minnesota Arboretum Tea Room

The tea party is a really sweet experience to do with some friends. You get a little variety of everything but served in bite size portions on a three tier platter and vintage China.

Obviously a reference to Alice in Wonderland, and I didn't have a chance to order the famous Queen of Hearts tea that people were talking about, which was okay because I got some pretty good brunch. I thought my entire experience was not something I was used to and lovely. The restaurant was located inside what looked like a residential house-turned restaurant, which was quite new and interesting to me, and I was ready to embrace the change.Overall the food was pretty good in the most conventional manners. The hollandaise sauce enhanced the flavors of the crab cakes and tweedle puff, and the side potatoes and fries are pretty well-made. I got the combo skillet which contained kielbasa, ham, bacon, etc. along with eggs that I ordered as made sunny side up. Nothing exceptional to highlight, but nothing exceedingly constructive that I would offer, either! Just pretty good standard brunch food is how I would put what my friends and I ordered from the Mad Hatter. Oh, I must say the cinnamon roll looked amazing! We ordered the "crazy Alice" version if I remembered the name correctly, and the presentation was something else! It definitely allowed me to take a good photo prior to indulging in its sweetness. It was slightly hard despite the menu saying it's freshly baked, but putting some cream cheese frosting on top of a piece of cinnamon roll would make the experience more pleasant.I do not normally visit the area so I am not sure when the next time will be that I return to this establishment, but I do recommend it to those who want to experience some "old school fairy tale" vibes with themes that reflected somewhat older times! And if I do return, I would definitely love to try their tea, or even get a chance to go for the Queen of Hearts!

This is just the cutest space, with the nicest staff! We went for Mothers Day high tea which was so special. There was a salad course, unlimited tea with dozens of options, both caffeinated and decaf. The high tea course had scones, savory, and dessert which includes cupcakes and macarons. Get a to go box ready, it's a filling amount! The staff are knowledgeable, kind, and check in often. The decor is so cute! A very fun experience

Had high tea here with my sister a few months ago, and it was delectable. It was her first high tea and my third, but first at the Mad Hatter, and I liked that although the pot was shared, limitless new varieties could be ordered without having to finish the current pot. It was a great way to sample the tea menu. Service was unrushed, the china was beautiful, and the finger foods were filling. The dining room was lovely with views out to the porch and greenery behind the house. Afterward, we floated upstairs to the boutique and purchased some loose leaf teas to enjoy at home.
