Very good addition to the art/gift scene in the Twin Cities. There is a definite feminine vibe, but that being said, there are items everyone will find appealing. As is current trend, there are lots of Minnesota, Lake Minnetonka, and Excelsior themed items for sale. They also have a great selection of hot, new female artists (Ashley Barlow, Missy Monson, eKate). There are items for every price point and you're sure to find some 'want' pieces as well. Next time you head out west, make sure to stop at the white house with big black letters on Main Street.

my friend and I heard about this shop from a TikTok, and we were really interested in seeing it because it looked super cute. When we got there everything was a bit overpriced but that's reasonable for a small business. When we were almost checking out, a woman that worked there referenced the sign on the door that said to only come in if you were really planning on shopping, which we were. She then said that the sign is mainly there for teenage girls (we are teenage girls) that just come in and take pictures, obviously talking towards us despite the fact that we had products in our hands that we were going to buy. Also, someone taking pictures and videos of your shop is free marketing and how we found out about the store in the first place. then, at the checkout, they had a bowl of match books and there were no prices on any of them so we asked if they were just complementary. Then, the same woman that spoke at us before rudely snapped up saying that they were 1.50 apiece which was fine but the way she spoke to us felt wrong considering we were customers in her store. Overall, the store was cute and the contents inside were cute if you have the money for it, but the customer service that we experienced was offputting. that being said, the cashier/the only one in the store that helped us was very nice! Loved her

Beautiful store filled with unique items including amazing artwork, natural beauty products, jewelry and home goods. I love coming here for gifts but always leave with something for myself too. Great way to support local and indie artists. They also occasionally host shopping events, like small business Saturday, in their upstairs space which are a fun way to meet some of the featured artists.

Their sign out front labeled "pretty on the inside" is an understatement. As soon as you step through the front door you're surrounded with the shop's beauty. The hidden gem of Excelsior, Golden Rule is filled with a beautiful selection of art, jewelry, cards & gifts. Definitely worth a stop in for a taste of local art and inspiration.

Golden Rule is Exelsior's own art gallery. They have everything from beautiful paintings to clothing and jewelry. Everywhere you look there's something aesthetically pleasing. The whole layout of the shop is absolute perfection. Golden Rule is more than just a shop, it feels like a lifestyle.

How could such a little shop contain so much beauty? -- my thoughts at the Golden Rule. Seriously, this place is packed with pretty things. Apparel, jewelry, gifts, art everywhere. It's the perfect place to pick up something lovely for someone you love (that includes yourself). It truly feels like an oasis. Don't walk, RUN!
