The Deerstand

Our second time here in about two years. Our meal was very good again. I had a mushroom Swiss burger with wild rice and jalapeños. We also had fried fish with wild rice. The wild rice was a very good addition to our meal.

Cheese curds are delicious - the best around! We also had Sunnies that were cooked perfect. Friendly service. Classic bar atmosphere. We'll be back.

Great happy hour until 6pm: $1 off any drink. Service was friendly and had quick delivery of plates. We all had the burger basket special w/ $3 off. Great choice of sides, but I wish I had a few more Brussels sprouts w less salt. It was a rainy night and the crowd seemed quiet but it is a Thursday. Savannah was very efficient!

It's a great place to stop for a beer, burger or entree. Specials every night. And we stopped in during a basketball tournament for the Wednesday special. Great deal for salad bar, baked potatoes and ribs or shrimp or liver was what my husband ate. The decor is awesome and there was a full body deer mount. Again my husbands words not mine. Plenty of room to park. Great staff and good t shirts, hats and sweatshirts for sale.

The staff was unfriendly and the menu did not reflect the actual prices. I ordered a pizza and when I asked about the over price I was told to understand that it is just too much for them to have new menus to reflect the correct prices. Additionally, the food was bland. Overall, the experience there just left a bad taste.

Prompt and courteous service. The prime rib was not good at all. Another family member had the walleye and said it was good.

A very solid place especially to grab a cold beer. Located just down the road from Ruttgers. If you want a break from the resort a pit stop to The Deerstand is a good call. The Lounge below the main restaurant always offers happy hour when they are open. As they say "why limit happy hour to one hour" . They also have pull tabs and darts - great times!

Not what I expected for a "up north" kind of restaurant. It was a great experience for us both: from the unique decor to the great service to the good food and salad & soup bar. My cajun spiced steak was prepared perfectly (medium rare, please) and my locally produced (just down the road) wild rice was delicious. The hit-outta-the-ballpark was the sunfish filets-not too much breading, not greasy but perfectly fried.

Great local place with a good feel very friendly staff and good solid food. Has that old supper club feeling to it.

we ordered pizza from the deer stand, and it wasn't good. The food was late, and pizza was burned. They also included a 4% increase if you are paying with card (so make sure you bring cash) Also, if you are picking up, they stick on a 2% pickup fee. So it wasn't worth the $63 for burnt pizza. Maybe, the other food is okay!
