The Chickadee Coffeehouse & Deli

I wasn't expecting something this unique in what seemed like the middle of nowhere. It's constructed like log cabin, but the decor is way more artsy inside, kinda wish I'd photographed the bathroom! We were there for a quick breakfast, and the 3 of us ordered a variety of coffee drinks and sandwiches. A quick taste of my brewed coffee confirmed that it did not need cream or sugar to cover up anything. The food took a bit longer, but was worth the wait. My breakfast burrito was a well balanced mix of tasty, mildly spicy things. The prices were also very reasonable for the quality; we were able to stay within our per diem guidelines for meals easily.

Our food took a while to come out, so if you're in a rush this may not be the spot for you.It was AMAZING food. This was the perfect place to stop for lunch after a weekend of tent camping. So cozy, lots of indoor and outdoor seating, healthy delicious food, and tons of kid friendly options.You should go here.I had the summer salad, so it may not be there now, but the greens were cold and crisp and the chicken was warm and it was all around perfect.The local displayed is wonderful. My group of teens was impressed by the dragon drawings by the front door. They are using lots of organically recyclable items! (Commonly know as composting, but my county calls it organic recycling)

My buddy and I were traveling back from Duluth and needed a bite to eat. I saw this place and it look like a nice stop. Phenomenal food, super super fresh! We both got the strawberry chicken poppyseed salad. They have daily specials. Todays was our salad chips and a drink for 9.99 which was filling!

Had a delicious lunch here driving from Duluth back to the Twin Cities. Turkey and sprouts sandwich on ciabatta, BLT on sourdough, and a grilled cheese for the kids. Drip coffee (Minnesota Nice) was good too. Cute spot with outdoor patio and friendly staff.

This is such a cute little cafe! We passed this place a couple of months ago but didn't have time to stop. Well we are out this way again and so happy we made the stop! We ordered coffees(coconut milk latte DELICIOUS! And a americano that offered great espresso flavor). For lunch we got a Teriyaki Chicken Wrap and a Turkey Bacon Cranberry Panini! Everything was delicious and the staff is very friendly! We will definitely be stopping here again in the future!

Lovely place with chickadee theme and much more. Such good bread for a delicious chicken salad sandwich. Borscht was delicious - little chunks of beef very tender and the broth was perfect, not too salty. My husband loved his sandwich as well - turkey, bacon, and cranberry jam. There were a variety of vegetarian choices here, too. We picked up a bag of coffee beans from a local roaster before we left. We could have eaten outside as there are tables on either side of the building. Stop by Barnum for a meal here, you will be happy!

Driving from Duluth to Minneapolis and this was a perfect place to stop for lunch. Fresh, healthy and delicious sandwiches, salads and pastries/cookies. Really good drinks too - we enjoyed our strawberry frappe and our spiced chai latte with almond milk. Our family of 5 -- ranging from teenager to 80-something grandpa -- loved their food! Staff was friendly, food came out promptly. We sat inside in cute cafe setting although there is an outside patio deck as well. Definitely recommend!
