The Bridge Tavern

Early and casual light dinner on a quiet Monday evening.The waitress was very friendly and service fairly quick on a not so busy night.The food was simple but tasty. They had a varied menu, but didn't want to have a big dinner.The restaurant was freezing when we arrived, but it had large dinning rooms, which was fairly empty at 6pm.Otherwise a pleasant sports bar type of restaurant.

My dog and I were immediately greeted at the entrance. After the dog was given much love we were told to pick a seat and he would be right out with some water for the dog.The food was delicious and so were the drinks. The staff were friendly, fast, and helpful. It was a real nice place to stop and sit outside with my dog and my company.

We were there just after opening on a weekday. We sat at the bar and had total personal service. We were the only people there. We had the walleye sandwich and rueben melt. They were both very good. Topped with a local beer, it was a very nice experience.

Just down from the bridge over the Mississippi River, this place is unpretentious and just what it says: A bridge between being hungry & thirsty to satiated. What? You don't like the decor? Well, this is rural Minnesota (just off Highway 6) and there's not too many haute cuisine restaurants nearby. We came for lunch and the friendly staff allowed us to park our bicycles on their patio area (maybe they like bikers of all varieties). The panfried walleye sandwich was wonderful, as well as my Rueben melt. Good taps offered, we experienced great service for our lunch visit. We thought the tab was more than reasonable for the amount of food that was served.

The place has been going downhill for some time. I used to like to ride there on snowmobile, as it was the perfect distance. Service and quality of food has been hit or miss however. I don't really care what any business owners politics are, but I don't need to see that nonsense posted on their pages. You can do better.

We like to stop here when we are in the area. We were here on Nov 12th. The food was good (Popcorn Shrimp). But the waitress Katie was terrific. She is so sweet and efficient it made our visit Betty enjoyable. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is because that is usually for fancy schmancy places and The Bridge is more comfortable and down home.

I experienced less than stellar service by server Katie S. I ordered a crispy buffalo chicken wrap with chips. My order came out as a crispy chicken and bacon ranch wrap with less than normal serving size of chips. Acknowledging the portion size, she said she would bring out more chips. When she came to check on us, I informed her I did not get what I ordered so she brought me out some buffalo sauce to drip my wrap in I guess and said she had punched in the wrong wrap. She never brought me the full portion of chips either. I understand people make mistakes when it's busy but there were only eight people in the bar so not too busy to provide such service and screw up twice on one order. I won't be back anytime soon.

The food was great, hot, fresh and tasty. The meat was tender and the service was friendly.

We consider this place to be like a home away from home. Have been going there for some time.

Best darn burger I've had in a long time! Staff was sweet also!! I would recommend to anyone going thru Crosby, a must stop!
