The Birdhouse Eat & Drink

My wife and I met some friends at The Birdhouse. They are avid visitors, but this was our first time. I had the Pot Roast Grilled Cheese which was a meaty, gooey bundle of deliciousness. Will order this again, may end up splitting next time as the portion was large and the tots on the side were plentiful. Wife had gumbo soup and our friends had a pulled pork sandwich and some wings, all of which were reported as delicious. The zesty dipping sauce we ordered for the tots was tasty as well.Drinks were reasonable and we caught the tail end of happy hour, so saved a few bucks. Not too busy at 5:30 but it was a snow day so guessing that kept the crowd a bit light.Fun retro vibe and decor, had a Ms Pacman machine and jukebox on the wall. Tons of board games for when you just want to hang out.Will definitely make this part of our local rotation, wish we had done so sooner!

I've been here for brunch before and enjoyed it. Recently, we came in for dinner and I had a hard time finding something that looked appealing and was relatively healthy. I went with the nachos and they had good flavor, the queso was well distributed and I liked the side of salsa they provided. The chipotle sour cream wasn't necessary so I am glad I got that on the side.My husband (who is originally from Philadelphia) got the cheesesteak. It was very much ok for the Midwest, of course the bread can't compare to Philly but they captured everything else well. I think I will stick with brunch here unless the dinner menu drastically changes.

I love Birdhouse! They have the best Avocado Toast I've ever had on their brunch menu! Great service and a cute spot right in downtown robbinsdale. The spicy blackberry margarita is 10/10 too!

Peaceful spot for a break from routine, quiet music which I enjoyed. Had a glass of wine with cheese curds. Curds were OK, but more breading than cheese. Server was prompt and food delivery to other tables looked good! Decorations "fit" the birdhouse theme . . Cute!

Charming eatery with vibrant beers....yeah pretty much sums it up. What missing in this statement is how good the food is. I have catfish platter while others ordered crispy chicken sandwich and B house burger. Combined with various beers, it's a very good lunch event for sure

My friend and I sat on the patio to catch up and get some tasty eats. I was disappointed they no longer had their poutine that I saw all over the internet. Sad face. To make up for it the Smashburger was really delicious and hit the spot! My friend's catfish basket was really good too! But the best part was the beignets for dessert! Just like N'orleans! Brought me back to my trip there so long ago!The service there was excellent! Our server was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. Such a sweetheart!I'm all ready planning my trip back to try some other yummy items on their menu! I almost ordered food to go from there over the weekend. Such a cute main street in bird town as well. An excellent spot to check out!

Stopped by here with the oldest coz we wanted to try something new and she wanted Mac and cheese. Cute little place with some retro game cabinet and bunch of board games you can use.We got seated and served water right away. They have a good selection of local brews so I ordered one. We started off with cheese curds. I got the smash burger and she got the make your own mac and cheese.The cheese curds were decent. these were no state fair cheese curds but none are so that's an unfair comparison. The sauce did make them better.The burger was good with a decent lattice on the patties. The sauce and caramelized onions with the brioche bun worked really well. The mac and cheese was also good with the different cheese and some broccoli, mushrooms and caramelized onions. Is was a hit with the tween.It was a decent dinner and a cool place. If you are in the area and want a decent burger and a local brew, stop by.

Brunch place that we stopped by on our way home. The atmosphere of the restaurant is very nice but the food choice and the dishes can be better. Nothing wowed me from what we ordered : croissant Sammy, burrito, 2 kids brunch. No comments on the kids meal since they are standard. The tots or breakfast potato was not super flavorful. Services is a bit slow and the restaurant is not super busy. We are not in a hurry so not a issue for us.

Stopped by for a beer and a quick bite with a couple friends. Cool spot, kinda quirky. The brussel sprouts were amazing - we got the Gruyère cheese & bacon on them. Delicious! And we got the chicken wings with the maple chipotle sauce - this was also really good. Service was alright, bartender/server seemed annoyed with us. Maybe he was having a bad day? But I would stop back next time I'm in the area.

Great place to grab breakfast, brunch, or lunch! The service is always great. It's not very big so when they're crowded expect for a wait. They also have outside seating when on the side of the building that's nice. I've been here plenty of times and always leave satisfied. Huge fan of the breakfast burrito, the MN chop cheese, chicken salad sandwich and the beignets.
