Interior of vegetable samosa ($6). Decent but heavy on the cumin, adding a hint of bitterness.

Dal tarka ($12). Subdued, nutty roasted flavor. Not bad, not great.
Bangan bhartha ($14). Had a strangely milky flavor. Maybe not vegan? Tasted terrible regardless. Also too oily.

The whole experience was authentic and the service was exquisite. Chicken tikka masala with medium spice and Garlic Naan danced on one's palate. Binay and I had a wonderful discussion about Cricket that set the ambiance with extra panache. The tea for dessert was spiced to delight: sweet.

Decent enough Indian restaurant. The spinach in my lamb with spinach dish was more a spinach sauce. The garlic naan was excellent.

The curry was solid. The butter chicken was not at all butter chicken. More of a chicken tikka. The garlic naan was decent. The Keema Naan was really thick and chewy, and filled with ground BEEF instead of lamb. Place is clean, and well maintained. Service was average to slightly slow. Price was 15% high given the quality. This place falls into the, "I didn't hate it," category. Which is to say, I would go here again if someone else wanted to go here specifically, but for the money there are better Indian places near by.

Had a hankering for palaak paneer and found this place at 8:45 tonight (they close at 9:00).Ordered my palaak takeout and ten minutes later picked up a most satisfying dinner. The texture was dead-on, and the taste was rich and complex.I instantly liked the guy behind the counter, who expressed gratitude to the local community for helping him stay afloat through the COVID mess. He's the kind of person who's easy to support, and I hope people who read this review will do just that.

I had high hopes that Taste of India would be my new North Indian-food-in-a-stripmall gem, but it didn't impress. Also, I'm not 100% sure about how vegan-friendly its vegetarian dishes are, so if you're vegan, ask questions (I wish I had myself).Their website doesn't allow online ordering, so I phoned in my order and had a friendly employee. The vegetable samosa ($6) was okay but heavy on the cumin, leading to a lightly bitter aftertaste. The bangan bhartha ($14) is an eggplant dish that's nearly always vegan by default in my experience, but here it tasted milky. Shame on me for making assumptions. In any case, I didn't like the flavor on this dish at all and gave up on it after a few bites. It was also swimming in oil.The channa masala ($14) is also a dish that's typically vegan by default. Here it was oily and had a faint sweetness which didn't help at all. This dish was tolerable but not great. I assume it was vegan, but I am not 100% sure.Lastly, the dal tarka ($12) had a nutty, subdued and roasted flavor which didn't pop, but didn't taste bad either. The roti ($4) was good---not too thick and nice texture. If you're looking for better North Indian food, I recommend India Palace or Dancing Ganesha in Minneapolis. India House in St. Paul and The Hyderabad Indian Grill in Columbia Heights are also good. Gorkha Palace in Minneapolis is also stellar, though it's Nepalese, which is similar to North Indian food, but not the same.

Went here for a work birthday lunch and basically showed up right as it opened. Easy free parking and kind servers. Our party of 3 sat at a table with 5 chairs in an empty restaurant! The service was attentive but not clingy and the food was amazing. I'd love to get takeout or visit again for lunch -- dinner would be great here too.

Go here. Go now. I adored the Chicken Palak Saag and the veggie samosas but I sampled everything else my party had and it was exquisite. My only complaint is that I live in Illinois and can't come here regularly, but that's not their fault. And the people are lovely. :)

This was a carry out order for chicken curry, chicken tikka, chicken tikka masala, kheer, and vegetable samosas. The food was good and was ready on time.

Best Indian food I've had in the Twin Cities so far, though it's a really low bar. Decent flavors all around, well-spiced, and fluffy naan.Don't like that they do black plastic takeout. They also puree their saag/palak into baby food. And everything is about 20% too expensive considering what you get. They also don't do online ordering, so you have to call to place an order, which is fine but means scrolling all over the menu in advance, writing down what you want, then calling and paying on pickup. It would be nice to just order online and get it.Haven't eaten in the restaurant, but it seemed to have nice ambiance and booths that were cozy.

MOST amazing BEST INDIAN food anywhere! I always come here and have never been disappointed. Service is great, place is quiet and accommodates customers having a leisurely dinner conversation, and food is consistently SUOERB! Chicken makhani is fabulous and so is banyan bharta, but anything else is great too, Rogan Josh, biryani, tikka skewers, naan, dal, samosas, all!!!
