This shop has a lot of knickknacks, bathroom supplies, and food/beverage options. I bought a lathering shave bar, some locally sourced black teas, cheddar popcorn topping (with nutritional yeast ), reusable coffee filters, the famous buffalo flavored nuts, caramel popcorn, toothpaste tablets (no fluoride), and gummy worms. Seriously once you start picking out snacks, it's hard to resist. Will definitely be back. Had my eye on a bronze safety razor and everything/curry flavored cashews.

LOVE this adorable local shop! Only thing I don't love is how far away it is from me, but I will make a special trip to get there.I like that they have sustainable products and practices here. The food selection is awesome and the earth-friendly products are outstanding. If you plan to buy any of the bulk items, be sure to bring along your own container (and maybe even bring an extra - they collect for those who don't have these with them).

First heard about Tare Market on Instagram and just had to check it out for myself. Stopped in on a rainy Sunday. This local shop is cute and bright. I picked up some sample size face soaps. eye cream, shower streamers, earrings, herbal tea which I cannot wait to try (smells amazing), cheddar popcorn topping, popcorn, and buffalo flavored peanuts. Oh! I cannot forget the gummy worms my friend got... literally the best I've had. So fresh and flavorful. This was my first time here so my eyes were everywhere and of course I wanted it all. I'd like to try the essential oils, bar soaps, and maybe even the laundry soap. The gal working was friendly and helpful. My friend and I just let her know this was our first time here and we didn't know how it worked. She explained it well. There were free jars available if you don't bring your own but I'd suggest bring your own and a reusable bag as well. I love how this store is about zero waste and making small changes in the right direction lead to big results over time. Highly suggest checking this shop out for yourself. I'll be back.

Have zero waste dreams but are overwhelmed?Start with tiny changes. They make a huge impact over time. This store is so beautifully laid out and organized it will inspire you.I just switched to bar shampoo & conditioner and love them! Two less plastic bottles. They have three different types to choose from.I bought the dish soap bar to use with my no plastic scrubber. Washing dishes is now super easy! I rub the scrubber on the bar and off I go a warshing... ;) If you are a fan of the liquid dish soap, bring your bottle and fill it up.The loose leaf tea is great and the maple pecan granola is the best I've ever had. They also have lots of bulk nuts, dried fruit, sugar, grains and flours. Weigh your containers at the scale there and they deduct the weight at the register.I also bought the locally made unscented lotion bar in a refillable metal tin. We go through a lot of lotion in the winter here in Minnesooota! Other items I have goals to eventually switch to are the toothpaste tablets, dental floss refills, and bulk spices. Every purchase without plastic or a new container is a green step in the right direction. Baby steps will get us there. Keep taking them!!!

I had a hot second and was driving by so I figured I would stop in. I went in and they were helping another customer. I had a chance to walk around and check out the space. I had recently been to the one in NE for the first time. The people working were very nice! I love the concept of this store and I love buying things here! I like the layout and size of the one in NE better and I will defintely still hit up this place when I'm in the neighborhood!

First time here. I saw an article about Tare and was going to be in Minneapolis for a yelp event so drove over. Parking is all street parking. I parked on a side street and walked over. The guy working was so nice and answered all my stupid questions. The deodorant was spendy at $14.99. I bought some chocolate coconut squares and dog biscuits. I used the bathroom and tried the bamboo toilet paper. I didn't see a reason to buy at $2.49 a roll. There is a 2% fee to use a card. I paid in cash. Cool concept.

Get yourself to Tare market, either here or their new location in northeast. Fun and knowledgeable shopping experience. First time trying to do zero waste? Don't worry, they won't make you feel bad or dumb, just overall encouragement and knowledge about their products and processes.Don't like asking for help?? That's fine too, everything is labeled and laid out to help inform how to weigh, label etc.I buy my homemade local soaps, zero waste shampoo bars, laundry detergent and bulk foods. They have online shopping and they also take hard to recycle items. An all around great concept!!

I am so grateful and proud that we have Tare Market as an option in Minneapolis! Their sustainable mission is inspiring, and their employees are so committed to being personable and making zero waste choices more accessible. Their selection of zero waste products is constantly growing, too. There are so many food staples available, as well as personal/home goods! It's a great place to find new sustainable swaps for your own home or to gift to others. My personal favorite products are dish blocks and coconut dish scrubbees, shampoo bars, bulk hand soap (amazing scent options!!), and the assortment of herbs/spices!

Just moved here from NC where I used to bring my own containers to Whole Foods and buy in bulk. Unfortunately, I recently found out that this is not permitted at the Whole Foods here in Downtown MPLS, but fortunately I found out about Tare Market!! The things I love about Tare Market is that it is completely zero waste--they really have thought of every detail, including being located near a major transit/metro stop; so no need to drive, and it is accessible to us car-less folks. You can also donate your old jars and containers that you might have disposed of, so that customers can use them in case they forget their own. They carry bulk dry foods like lentils, nuts and spices as well as skin care and beauty products. I was surprised to see that they even carry Meow Meow Tweet deodorant--I use this product and normally have to order it online. My only concern is that it may be cost prohibitive. For instance, large flake nutritional yeast costs around $14/lb whereas it costs only about $8/lb at Whole Foods. Similarly, $36 for a simple stainless steel tiffin box that you could get for under $10 at an Indian store. I understand that it is a new small business so I will continue to support when it makes sense for me financially, but it would be nice if the price points were more accessible so that more people could partake in the zero-waste movement!

Tare Market is wonderful and I wish there were more throughout the metro! The store is bright, modern, and lovely. They have waste-free packing on tons of products - way more than I thought they would! Ketchup, mustard, spices, coffee, tea, dry pasta, granola bars, fig newton bars, straws, food wrap wax, makeup, soap, dishwashing soap, scrubbers, dog shampoo and treats, storage containers, Castile soap, and much, much, more! They also try to source from local vendors. I bought something from a company in St. Paul!Bring your own clean containers (or they have containers you can purchase) and stock up on products. The staff are very friendly and will help you tare your goods so don't be intimidated!I came here for a class called, "Transition Your Home to Zero Waste" where one of the owners gave a presentation on starting a waste-free lifestyle. I learned SO much, took tons of notes, and am planning to get started on living a greener lifestyle. The Tare Market website has lots of classes - check them out because they fill up fast! For prices, I think everything was reasonable. I didn't have anything to compare it to but it seemed well-priced. I bought a 10-pack of facial rounds ($7.99), Dental floss with a refill ($7.49), a mason jar drink lid ($8.99), a lip/cheek tint combo ($11.99). Because I signed up for the class ($10) I got $5 off my store purchase.I can't wait to shop here again as I use up what I have and need to replace items.
