Taqueria La Monarca

We were in town for the night, and stopped at a local store and the lady recommended this place over the other in town for Mexican. The menu is not huge, nor is the place (9 tables in the front and some in the back I think). We came at 5:30 on a Friday and got a table right away. We had chips, salsa, cheese dip, Mexican soda, margarita, kids taco place and fajitas. All were really good and we really enjoyed everything. Service was great too!

It wasn't our intention to eat here. BUT WE ARE SO GLAD WE DID! You can look at the menu, but don't. Order the birria tacos. You won't regret it.

Really tasty Mexican food! I love a chimichanga and theirs were excellent. Instead of one massive one, they serve theirs as two smaller ones and it is a winning idea. The meat to cheese to fried tortilla ratio is perfect. My husband got the Arroz con Pollo which is a favorite of his and he loved it (and based on my sampling of it, I see why). The menu has a good mix of the Mexican dishes you'd expect and a few things that you won't find everywhere. You should have no problem finding something that looks delicious. If I had one nitpick with the food, the chips with the free chips and salsa were merely fine. That's as negative as I can get with the food. The restaurant is small (though there is space to the back and not sure how large that area is) but not cramped. Everything was clean, bright and inviting. If anything, it was maybe a tiny bit loud between tvs, music and people which I really only noticed when talking with our server who was on the soft-spoken side. Service was quick and friendly. We will absolutely be going back!

In town for one night and chose this little place based on yelp reviews:) It was a GREAT choice! My daughter had a burrito and I had taco salad. Staff was very friendly and food was very good. Highly recommend!

The food is pretty good but tbh it is a hit or miss service could be better and the guy that looks like he's Asian has no customer service skills

Today stopped by at Taqueria La Monarca. A small, quaint place with a comforting vibe. Ordered the shredded beef burrito! Meat was not dried but juicy just enough cheese sauce to enhance the flavors! Great service as well!

At here while in town for a work training. Place is rather small. I had the tacos which were amazing. Always huge extra credit when they have free chips and salsa. All staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. After seeing a few other patrons order the fajitas I had buyers remorse so I will be going back to try the fajitas.

Went there in August 2024 for lunch. First time. Enjoyed the atmosphere, small and cozy. Food was excellent as was the service. I highly recommend this very authentic Mexican restaurant.

Warm and comfortable atmosphere. Corn chips were extra crisp, salsa had just the right amount of cilantro. $9.00 burrito plates were tasty and more than we could eat. Oh, and they had NA Corona! What's not to like?
