Strive Bookstore

Ashamed to say that I paid this store my first visit this past week especially with how long they've been open. I needed to escape my home and walked downtown. Popped in here for a totally unplanned visit and if they weren't closing in an hour it would have been really hard for me to leave. What a comforting corner in what can sometimes be gloomy downtown Minneapolis. Solid book collection. Found out they host book clubs and you can even start your own and host it there. There's tons of comfy seating.Bonus points that it's black owned! Will be back!

Great ambiance and great service! This place is huge! Come in with work to do it makes you want to get some work done. Great vibes! There's so many books in their selection. The authors are diverse and plentiful. Everything is well priced and a great value!

This store is simply a gem and the people who work there are incredibly welcoming. There is a great selection of books--mostly focused on African Americans and very well curated. They also have some nice gifts. I had fifteen minutes to look around before a meeting but I ended up coming back to buy some goodies! Affordable and locally owned. Check it out!

Go visit Strive! They have an eclectic and vibrant mix of books in a savvy space. Saints of the Household, a book by a local author, was amazing! I read it in two days. I'm excited to check out the other book I bought, written (or co-authored by Omar Epps). The space is large and airy. There are chairs throughout and tables and chairs behind the books. The person at the front chatted nicely about other bookstores to check out and gave us a map titled, "bookstores of the Midwest" - one of the ones we visited while in Milwaukee a few days before! The only thing missing is a coffeeshop!

It was a beautifully appointed bookstore with a treasure trove of stories of Black perseverance. I recommend it highly.

This is a fantastic store, and the space has a great feel and ambiance. Great and helpful staff. They feature local authors and more than just books.
