Stillwater Proper

Brussel sprouts were amazing. I'm usually a person who can take them or leave them, and I will be back just for these. Did not get a photo because we ate them too fast. Service was nice. Drinks were good. Especially the house tap cider. Will be back.

Very impressed with this lovely restaurant right in downtown Stillwater. This restaurant is also related to Lolo and Lolito. They also have a lovely little bar in the back room...it's intimate and great to hop in when it's open. We sat at a table close to the front door on a cold Sunday night. This place has a great happy hour which is every day from 3-5pm and Sunday from 3 - close. I got their delish old fashioned at the happy hour pricing. Yum and Yay! I ordered the Mediterranean bowl with falafel. It was absolutely perfect and the flavors were out of this world. Lots of other wonderful and tasty meals on the menu. Service was great and I can't wait to go back and try other items. Or maybe I'll stick with my fav so far. Lol.

I recently visited this restaurant with a group of four friends, and unfortunately, it wasn't the experience we were hoping for.We started with shrimp tempura and baked carrot as appetizers, which were pretty good. However, the mains were disappointing. Three of us had tacos (pork belly and shrimp tempura), while one ordered the chicken sandwich. Most of the dishes were overly salty, which i think is because of heavy-handed use of soy sauce that overpowered the flavors.The service was another letdown. The server informed us we only had 45 minutes for the table, even though the restaurant wasn't busy when we arrived at 5. We felt rushed to place our order, which made the whole dining experience less enjoyable.

This is a very nice little restaurant in the heart of Stillwater. The service was very friendly and attentive.I tried both the Garlic Noodles and the Triple Grilled Cheese. I felt the grilled cheese could have had a better ratio of cheese to pesto, but it was still tasty. The garlic noodled were also good but a bit too rich by the end. The drinks were tasty and strong- great bang for your buck! Would return here

My wife and I tried Stillwater Proper this past weekend. Great vibe overall - busy but a really nice setup with the bar in the middle and tables all around. We sat at the bar in front of the open kitchen (which was fun to watch actually). We tried a couple of the special cocktails (see pictures). Vey strong first sip but overall two really good drinks. We were thinking we were there just for a cocktail but ended up getting some fries as a snack - they were amazing - thin cut and cooked perfectly. Not exactly health food ... but so good. The service was a little slow, but it was pretty packed on a Saturday afternoon in December. We will be back.

Without question, the best restaurant experience I had in downtown Stillwater, and my mouth is still watering from the experience!I just absolutely love this place, let's just start with the ambience, which is fantastic! A nice bar, right in the middle very lively, TV screens, get this they have their own distillery in the back?! I mean, I have not seen that before! You will just be so happy you stopped in here to eat. Trust me!Time to talk about the food, the best meal I've had in months! And certainly in Stillwater!! Everything here was probably about as good as things could taste let's just talk about some of the appetizers like the brussels sprouts and the carrots! Make sure you order both of those you won't regret it! My grilled chicken sandwich was the best grilled chicken sandwich I can remember having.So here's another thing, without a doubt, the best dessert I think I even can remember at a restaurant! They have several brownies here and they put ice cream on it. The chocolate, peanut butter, brownie dessert I had was as close to heaven as you can get! This is the spot to go for dinner in downtown Stillwater in my opinion! Highly recommended for a meal you won't forget!

After some axe throwing at a nearby establishment our big family group stopped here for dinner (yes we had a reservation for our group of twelve).The restaurant was hopping and the waitress did a good job with the big group. The kitchen though was a bit slow but not a surprise given the size of our group.The menu was somewhat small with lots of sandwiches including burgers and hot dogs and a few entrees. Everyone liked their meal. Two of us ordered the shrimp tempura tacos and they were very tasty with just the right amount of spice.Overall a good experience.

Have had good experiences in the past with this place, but let down on this birthday celebration. Our waitress was very odd...made uncomfortable comments, specifically about being a part of the "clean plate club", which I find a bit inappropriate as a service worker, and barely checked in with us. The food took a long time to come out (people who ordered after us got theirs before.) Grilled Chicken Salad- yummy, but did not include bacon as listed on the menuProper Burger- good flavor, but definitely recommend getting a double because the ratio of bread to meat isn't greatSpicy Grilled Chicken Sandwich- again, good flavor but small portion

When the table is silent and everyone is apart of the clean plate club I think it's safe to give a 5 star review. We all enjoyed our meals - the grilled cheese, definitely not your basic grilled cheese flavorful crispy and delicious. The bbq chicken sandwich was super filling and perfectly battered for crunch in each bite. We also enjoyed the wedge salad and the steak frites meal, the meat was tender and fries were seasoned well with a nice golden crisp. Oh and the mocktails - delicious!

Great grilled cheese the pesto makes it really delicious and savory. Also not pictured but rEALLY recommend the Brussels sprouts. Fantastic cocktails too! I tried the "at risk..." and it was delicious. Good vibes overall
