It had been too long since the last time I visited Steel Toe Brewing. For reference, I was enjoying a fresh Hefeweizen in the sun last time I was in the taproom. This time I was looking for something a little maltier to keep me warm with the temperatures we are facing in Minnesota. The two I chose were of course top notch - nothing less from a brewery like Steel Toe.Wee Heavy:It was a Wee Heavy - as the name suggests. Beautifully caramelly and sweet with a very mild hop bitterness.UnLunker:An English Barleywine that they use as the base of Lunker, their Barrel Aged version of this beer. The base beer is extremely complex with layers of butterscotch, caramel, molasses, and figs.____

Steel Toe is just south of Hwy 7 off of Belt Line Blvd. as is typical for breweries these days, it's a fairly nondescript setting. Sitting in the small bar feels like one is drinking after a shift making beer. Which is to say it's purposely nothing fancy. Half a dozen tables, a dozen bar stools and very good beer - that's about it. More tables and a rotating variety of food trucks in the parking lot. While I did not sample Sweet Lou's Meats, I did enjoy a Sissel, which is a raspberry sour ale served at 5.5% ABV. Tart and tasty. My second was a Lunker, a barleywine aged in rye casks. Kicked my ass a bit at 13.75%, which probably explains why ST pours about 6 oz for $10. Worth it. If I had a campfire to enjoy, the Lunker would be a perfect companion on a chilly evening. All-in, ST is worth a visit.

Stopped by here with a friend for a couple drinks. Hadn't been here yet. Located in the industrial area of SLP, there was parking in the lot and it was already pretty busy at 5 PM on a Friday. We sat at the bar. Its a clean and lively place with a jovial atmosphere. The staff was super friendly and helpful in recommending beers based on your tastes and preferences. You could tell they get a bunch of regulars and they had a really good amount of people that stopped by to pick up and restock.Started off with the Czech Pils. Had their sour (Sissel) next. Wanted to try their EBS (Extra Bitter Special). It was yummy so got that to end our evening at Steel Tow Brewing. All the beers were great. Very tasty. The ESB was so good that I had to get some to go for home.Like other breweries in town, there isn't a kitchen and you can't really get any food other than some bar snacks. They did have a food truck outside that you could pick up stuff from and bring it in if you so desire. We had a fun time with the delicious beers and will be back to try some of the others

We loved their logo. We stopped by on Sunday afternoon and there were tons of people. Everyone seemed to be having a good time. We had no trouble getting a beer or finding a place to sit. We didn't love the beer. My sour was really sour so if that's what you like perfect. My husband is a big IPA drinker but it wasn't his favorite. We really liked the atmosphere and the people were really nice.

This place was great! The people working there were all super nice. I had a couple beers and they were delicious. It has a nice combination of open, spacious seating inside and a lovely outdoor patio. There was a fantastic Momo food truck outside that I was told is often there. I brought home some crowlers and both were excellent too. One of the better breweries I've visited in the Plymouth area.

Didn't even know this was a brewery until going to an event in the area. We only had 1 beer due to them not having food and us being hungry. Bartender was very nice and told us about all the beers. Parking lot is big and it looks like they have a nice patio in the summer. Far drive from my house and I wish they had better food options. Good brewery.

There are a TON of breweries out there. Living in St. Louis Park for a number of years, this became a staple for me on Thursday/Friday Happy Hour. Even with the amount of brewery/beer options - I would call Steel Toes Size 7 IPA my favorite. I'm so glad that they sell it in liquor stores. The brewery is pretty nice too despite being tucked fairly out of site in an industrial park area. It's worth hunting for - especially if you line it up with a good food truck night! (I think they have a different truck pretty much every night)

I had never heard of Steel Toe until some friends invited me and I will definitely be returning. There's plenty of space inside to just enjoy a beer or even play a board or card games with friends. The beer was good and the prices were great compared to some other breweries in the cities.

Steel Toe has been around for a while for a simple reason. Good beer. Nothing too crazy. A smattering of styles, mostly well done. (I am not crazy about their version of a sour, but that is my only complaint. Their Hefeweizen is perfect in a hot summer evening. I also appreciate the large patio they have built with many umbrellas and overhangs so you can enjoy the outdoors without burning. Great place for a beer.

This is a very cool brewery to check out. We stopped in here for a beer and tried their flagship which was Size 7, an IPA. It was a good tasting beer, however I wish they also offered more of a hazy IPA as well. I also tried some samples of the 2 sour, the Sissel and Autumn Rays. I liked the Autumn Rays (Mango Passion Fruit) flavor much more than the Sissel (Raspberry). There was a lot of parking for the venue size. The venue looks small when you first walk in as you see a bar to the right that you order and some bar spots and tables to the left. We found another large room in the back that gave us a lot of room. We came during the winter and this would be a great place in the summer with all the garage doors open.
