Well here goes. I'm not into this telling in.people business but this guy here at this store done messed with the wrong one. My name is Ricky Kazee. You want to know me look me up on Facebook or Instagram I'm not hard to find. I have a story and it's part of the reason I feel the need to talk about the situation with this here Star Liquor boy. And I say boy because I get the feeling this man might call some people he don't like boy along with his father and forefathers. I'm a Polish boy on my mom's side and Mexican Native on my Dad's. I see this man. Before I trash this whole business I will say he has some cool young kids working for And and they took good care of me. I lost my leg to a tumor a year ago and gave been through hell since. Homelessness; living on the streets of mpls and even a week in HCSO lockup. My friefriend just got ran over whtowaiting to take a left in Oak Grove and was killed on the spot. Life is hitting hard now. I have been in rehab and was sober for 7 months until I relapsed when my friends and family stastarted dying. I've been self employed for 20 years. I bought a house in North Minneapolis when I was ×] years old with a 19 year oldbI knocked up after dating g her for a month. I made 3 amazing kids with this women. Ling story way longer I find myself in Blaine with nothing cause I got ripped off at a local pub in Coon Rapids for my priceless Navajo Squashblossom necklace. The girl who took it still has it. I mean she better hope she does. My point is I could snap on a fofool at any moment. Today I woke up to start the day. I had a rough morning and my battery was dead I wheelchaired a mile up to this damn Star Liquors where this issue has been going.on since i.lani.landed here a couple months ago. It's the closest liquor store. I don't want to drink but I've been struggling with alcohol addiction bad the last 5 years. I finfinely got a hold of it but been drinking to get by lately just to handle life rn. SO I HAD AN idea when I went to this store and they sold to me obviously. Well for some reason the owner refuses to sell to cause I.lost my ID so I started going to other local stores that don't even hassle.me.over I'd at all. Today I go in with 15 to my effing name. I wheelchaired a mile or so no big deal. I have a prosthetic covered by the state insurance I have thankfully. I show this man a copy of my ID which is all I could afford and he still refuses to sell me a t dollar bottle of booze. Now I don't need this alcohol but it just helps rn and it's how I've self medicated the last 25-30 years of my life. I struggled with cocooned and my way around a little of it all. After going through what I have the last year I've found my peace somehow. It took hell for me to finally understand what is to have no fear and I'm ready to face whatever comes at me. I do not fear god cause I don't believe what any other person believes. My peace is personal and it works for me. With that anything is possible. The reason I go into such detail is because a year ago I had what I thought was a.loving woman by my side and circle of friends and if nothing else my family to help when I'm in need. The hard truth is I am on my own now and I've accepted it. It may have taken 46 years for me to get my head right but I know I got this despite any pianos falljng from the sky or a bad cheeseburger from Mcdowells. This guy refused to sell me a.measky 5 dollar bottle over a stupid law nonobody cares about. You think the cops are going to take this mans liquor license because he sold 2 fireball shots to a crippled homeless man with a copy of his ID on a piece of p paper from his social worker. I mean feel free to Chime in BBlaine Police? This guy seems hateful to me anyway and he could have had a lot of my money cause I'm into the THC drinks they carry. I'm not one to hurt or bring negativity to someone's Well being especially if they are providing for family. I just decided not to be angry and do what a crazy person may do and just go the dry snitch route. I don't want to hate this guy like he hates me so please don't let this deter you from spending your kidney here I'm just sharing my experience and hopefully this man can be more understanding in the future. Because the truth is this man is.profiting of one of the biggest and evilest drugs this country has dealt with since the wonders of dissappear came about. I will end this sorted distribution with one question. If a local blonde haired blue eyed Blaine Bengal Fooball Player came in who might have a couple local cop fans on his side forgot his card in the car you think this man would treat him different? I will say you Gosh darned right he will.Overall I give this owner an F but luckily he hired some cool kids that helped him from feeling the goal wrath of my ugliness. Have a nice day and be sure to ignite the night.

Great whiskey selection and prices. Not a lot of selection with craft beer, but I guess they might just stock what sells best for them. Employees have been friendly on my visits. The main reason to go is their bourbon and whiskey section, which has some of the more rare bottles in the market from time to time.

I've been going to Star for almost 30 years. I've never had a problem with the customer service. Now. Back onto the liquor selection. They are not a big store. Don't expect a lot. They have mostly the basics with pretty good gift sets I do have to say during the holidaze. Also, they carry Invictus including my favorite of theirs right now - the Apple beer. Yuuummmm

Well, they have liquor, since they're a liquor store. But they don't have customer service. If you want expensive alcohol, go here. If you want to be treated like a human who matters, stay away. One employee was nice, but the other one, who appears to be an old Billy Idol impersonator, was a rude jerk. This is the closest liquor store to my house, but I definitely won't be back.

When it come to shopping at s liquor store, and I'm generalizing, selection and price and convenient location are most likely the top three when it comes to choosing which location you shop. Well star liquors is very close to my house. Not going back!!! What I didn't mention is the fourth and most important and that's service, they lack in this are with their crummy clerks. Nothing worst than handing your money to someone then walk out of the store feel they couldn't give a shot wheather you were there or not. And to boot they were watching something on there phone when I walked up. No worries I won't be bothering you anymore.

I strongly disagree with the other rating. This store is great, they frequently have sales with deep discounts. They usually have free samples on Friday nights.

Absolutely terrible in all ways. Extremely rude staff, poor stock and overpriced. There are many liquor stores in the area that are great, don't waste your time here.

Hello. Please reconsider who you hire. That one weird little worm who grills me at the register and hey one time said 'I'll kill you if you drive drunk' out of absolutely nowhere makes me super uncomfortable. The best part of that one is that I don't drive. It's okay to ask me if I have plans, I guess. That's friendly small talk. If I say I'm going to a party in response, it's not okay to ask me why I'm going, where it is, and who is going to be there when I give off NO vibes that I want to talk about it. And yet question after question despite being given a vague answer to straight up silence in response. It's none of his business where how or why I consume my purchase, thanks.4 stars, good prices, and everyone else is perfectly nice otherwise. But, as long as I have to deal with that dude. Well. There's another liquor store up the road.

Star Liquors on University-I'm going to write this off as a bad day and lesson learned. My husband just sent me to store to get him a case of beer. I've been in there before never been a problem. Today I couldn't get the beer out of the fridge. I yelled can someone help me. I said it again as I am the only person in the store. So I go to the cashier (large red headed man) and ask, "can you help me I was just in a car accident."!He looked at me with racist hate (people of color do recognize this) slammed his fist and said " so I had back surgery too." The cashier behind him looked at me as if I was going to go off. I walked away and was going to get a hot case on the shelf. My husband is 66 and has 5 daughters he deserves that beer. He finally came. Of course I thanked him.I will never step one foot in that store again! I'm a social worker; I know behaviors. This man was looking for an altercation so people of color should stay out out this store.

These people were the rudest people I have ever encountered the district director was using profanity towards a customer arguing over one dollar on a price sign. There are many other places to shop do not waste your time
