This might be one of my favorite "grocerys" -anywhere. Believe me , I see a few. The produce is always choice . The dairy is always choice . The glass bottled milk --- the Best !They carry only locally and humaely sourced meats . Prarie pride farm pork is THE BEST! Lots of bulk dry goods and herbs, reasonably priced . Intenational items like jarred curries, coconut milk--- and other things you cant find in Minnesota Grocery stores.A full vitamin & health care section. The best part might be the Deli-SoupSalad&Hot Bar ! Healthy food items ,ready to "grab&Go". They also have a rather lage sitting area & great coffee. I would encourage anyone who lives in area to JOIN the Co-Op for additional disconts on grocerys& spend your food dollars HERE. What a treasure.

Great fresh, delicious food. Especially if you are just passing through and don't want fast food or a slow sit down. Salad and soup bar, hot food bar with rotating themes (taco bar, Asian, etc), burrito bar (similar to Chipotle) and made to order sandwiches. You get what you pay for - so it's not cheap, but for me, worth it every time I'm driving through St Peter. Sandwiches are large. I paid $13 for a big sandwich a cup of soup and a generously sized pumpkin bar. Worth it.

The deli sammies are all great, and usually cut in half making sharing easy. The to-go heat and eats are sometimes a great deal and often very expensive--my repeat buys are the pulled pork, green enchiladas, and rice pilaf type ones. I find all their food quite salty, and sadly avoid the paneer, Swedish meatballs, or really anything with a lot of sauce. But I don't cook with much if any added salt at home, so "take that with a grain of salt!"Produce is usually high quality-and often I pass on it due to price. I tend to buy a few unusual items there that are hard to find elsewhere. The micro greens ,sprouts, unusual seasonal fruit like persimmon and fresh figs, and crazy many kinds of mushrooms make it a must shop stop for me. My fave dessert is the chocolate chip walnut cookie---if all they have is plain chocolate chip I take a hard pass, those are nothing special. I have quite a sweet tooth and the bars and such always look incredible. But, I think they are only pretty good. I am not sure why. Except those cookies I mentioned above. Yum. Croissants deliver on the promise-as does the fresh bread. Yes, that rosemary sourdough is worth it. And the baguettes are a must have to go with the cheeses you will turn around and pick up. The soup is great and it is also available on the top shelf of the refrigerated deli area.

Great local co-op. Right down the hill from Gustavus Adolphus College so it is a great place to pick up fresh produce or a tasty sandwich for lunch. The co-op has a fantastic deli/cafe with a great salad bar, soups, pastries, hot bar and sandwich station! One of my favorite places to grab lunch or dinner in town. They have reasonable prices for their produce, and excellent options for all dry goods and packaged food.

This was my favorite place to go in St. Peter for lunch. They make one of the best turkey sandwiches I've ever had. It's also a great place for groceries. If you like German chocolate cake, they sell it by the slice and you should definitely give it a try!

This is a beautiful coop--well stocked and kind of a small town quaint feel. They had everything we needed to pack a picnic for a beautiful day, but also have some great indoor and outdoor seating if you want to eat there. I guess I would have liked more salad selections in the deli, but I am sure they gear to their clientele so I won't mark them off for that1 Friendly staff and prompt service. Nice to see such a great coop in greater Minnesota!

How many times have I driven past this co-op? I'm not sure, but I have driven through St. Peter plenty of times over the years. The co-op is quite nice inside if on the smaller side compared to other co-ops I've visited. However, those other co-ops were also not in a smaller town like St. Peter.A quick look at the hot bar showed a tasty looking variety. The baked goods had a nice bread selection plus some Minnesota Scandinavian style items. The aisles have the requisite selection of Organic, gluten free, eco centric and other things you expect from a co-op, plus the few staff people I talked to were friendly. They have a water dispenser in the cafe area and clean bathrooms. What more do you want from a small town co-op? It is a nice destination and if I lived here I'd probably shop here more. They do have the usual high prices typical of a co-op, but then again they probably pay their employees and suppliers a bit better or the products just cost more than conventional mass produced stuff.

If you're anywhere in the Southwestern Minnesota area, St Peter Food Co-Op is probably your best bet for organic, local food this side of Minneapolis. While it can't compete with the Co-Ops of the city (especially when it comes to produce, and for obvious reasons) it will have just about everything you need! The staff is super friendly, the store is always clean and the deli offers a wide variety of hot, cold, and to-go items. My only main complaints would be that the deli items are not listed as organic or local, so it leaves you wondering where your food comes from. I would also love to have more choices in organic produce. The main reason I choose a Co-Op is because of the high quality organic produce.I stop in almost every time I'm in the area. Whether picking up groceries or just grabbing a snack for the road, St Peter Food Co-Op has you covered!

This is an amazing place. The staff are friendly. The deli food and sandwiches are super good. The produce is outstanding. It's the perfect size and a great shopping experience. St. Peter is lucky to have such a well-run cooperatively-owned grocery store.

This grocery store is amazing. Healthy, delicious food at reasonable prices. But the best part is the kind, conscientious employees. I had left my car lights on and one of the employees saw it and came out to check on me. My car wouldn't start. She had her mom come over and jump started my car. Wow! So grateful!
