Exquisite food? Check. Flawless service? Check. Beautiful space? Check. The Spoon and Stable is an elegant and light-filled space in the North Loop. Beautifully preserved remnants of its original use blend with clean and modern touches to make a space that is unique, welcoming, and intimate. The service is absolutely wonderful--everyone from the valet to the hosts to the servers were delightful. We especially appreciated Ellie, who served us in the bar before our reservation, and Louis S, who was our server for dinner. If you're making a reservation, see if you can snag a spot in one of their sections--you won't regret it. The food is of course phenomenal. (Duh.) Inventive treatments of the best seasonal fruits and vegetables, creative use and treatment of ingredients, artistic presentation, and inclusion of the unexpected, every plate is a delight. We started with the bread, which was the right move. The bread here is GOOD, friends, so don't pass it up. Brown, slightly sweet, a crunchy crust and chewy inside, it is a lovely way to start your meal. (Do NOT pass on the butter, either--it's really tasty.)For starters, we ordered the Bibb Lettuce Salad (me) and the Roasted Cauliflower (my dining companion). The Bibb lettuce salad was superb: Bibb is my favorite kind of lettuce, and its companions (the slices of d'Anjou pears and shallots, the cheese crisps) went together beautifully. The pumpkin seed dukkah and vinaigrette brought it all together. The roasted cauliflower was easily the best cauliflower dish I've ever had. (It was so good it made me mad, but that didn't stop me from dancing in my seat a little bit.) The seasoning in the cauliflower, the creamy sauce, the chilis, the citrus, herbs, and pomegranate? It was wildly delicious. For my main, I simply could not resist the call of Dorothy's Pot Roast. A vegetarian pot roast? Sign me the heck up. This dish absolutely delivered. Roasted mushrooms cooked perfectly (tender on the inside and toasty on the outside), a savory gravy, and pommes aligot (the kind of mashed potatoes that they serve in heaven on special occasions, no doubt), this dish is a bowl of classed-up comfort. We also shared the Brussels sprouts, which they very kindly made vegetarian by putting the pancetta in the side. (Thanks!) The mdr sprouts aren't kidding around--chili glaze and peanuts plus exactly the right amount of char are a beautiful thing. Finally, we come to dessert. I ordered the Honey and Cream cake, and my friend had the Lime Leaf Pavlova. Both were gorgeous to behold (seriously, the plating here is amazing) and scrumptious. The cake was tender and just the right amount of sweet, and its accompaniments (mango, cream, honey meringues, and crispy crumble) were wonderful. The ice cream was unlike any I have had before--truly tasty (and a perfect quenelle, too). The pavlova was refreshing thanks to the bright lime leaf, and its accompaniments perfectly complementary. The coconut tapioca was probably my favorite, but the ginger ice cream was a close second. It was harmonious and a bright reminder that the sun will come again. Many thanks to everyone for a fabulous evening!

The atmosphere is elegant and upscale, creating a lovely dining experience, though the seating arrangement is quite tight, with small tables placed close together.Service started off a bit rocky--our waiter didn't check in until we were halfway through our meal. However, he became much more attentive afterward, promptly addressing our requests, which was appreciated. This initial lack of attention is the main reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5.The food was excellent across the board, with beautifully prepared dishes that tasted as good as they looked. Do note that the portions are on the smaller side, so ordering a side dish along with your main entrée is a good idea. The complimentary treats at the end were a delightful touch that added to the experience.

My husband and I were visiting family up in St. Cloud for the week of Thanksgiving and now that we're down in Minneapolis. We wanted to cleanse our pallet and have some really nice elevated flavors. We had a great time here at Spoon & Stable. It's a must-hit if you're in town.

We had a wonderful experience here. We had a bottle of the riesling wine and it was delicious and light. Very yummy for a wine. We ordered the bucatini and raviloi along with the cheese curds and they were all delicious. It is a pricier restaurant but well worth the price for the food and atmosphere. The service was also amazing. Our server Ty was the best and really made our experience great. I would highly recommend for a special occasion like birthday, anniversary, or date night. Dress up cute and enjoy your night!

We enjoy dining at the bar in Spoon and Stable. The restaurant has changed over the years, although the kitchen remains one of the best. Spoon and Stable doesn't have that exclusive, only for the well-heeled aura anymore. The prices are reasonable for this kind of cooking, and the staff seems more relaxed. Trey was our server and mixologist, and he was engaging all evening. My incessant gabbing didn't faze him. Our meal was fantastic. My Hiramasa Tartare was the ideal palette starter, and the iconic pot roast has remained one of Minneapolis's best dishes. Arancini had the correct piquancy, but I wish there was more truffle taste. Bucatini was al dente and delicious. Spoon and Stable has remained a stalwart part of the Minneapolis dining scene. It was a wonderful experience once again.

Fabulous tasting food, great wine selection, very open space with kitchen and chef completely visible! For one, there's nothing better than being able to see the chefs prepare your food on the far side of the restaurant. The servers are so kind and well conditioned to check on their guests when walking past! We never had an empty water glass, they're very on top of it! I also ordered a coffee NA cocktail (not pictured), and i loved it!! Great space to share a meal with a lover, friend, or even business partner(s). Food 5/5Bev 5/5

Parking was a slight challenge without paying $15 for valet so keep extra time for parking if not going that route. The hostess was very nice. I did however ask for a booth and we were given one booth seat and one chair. There were other seats next to us where we could have both sat in a booth without me feeling like I was in the middle of a walkway. Our server was attentive with excellent recommendations. We love the soft butter served on the marble stone and bread rolls. Our food portions were smaller than I recall but still delicious. I feel like one large ravioli for the raviolo Al'uovo isn't enough for the smaller $25 ravioli portion. The butter sauce was absolutely delicious! We loved Dorothys pot roast as well. My son said it was the best he'd ever had. The penicillin drink my son had was very good and strong. I enjoyed the French 75. Our desserts were my favorite. We got the chocolate budino and the lime leaf pavlova. The pavlova is so unique! We did wish the ginger ice cream had more ginger flavor. However it was SO delicious! Save room the desserts here they are so good!

I can see walking in how this place has so many high reviews, it's beautiful. Overall the service was great. I was a bit disappointed in the lack of flavor of the food but maybe my expectations were different. There's a cozy dim light vibe that would be perfect for a date night. But not my go to spot for a place for dinner. Parking can also be a hassle trying to find something on the street but I believe they have valet service.

Came here for a late dinner around 9:30 PM. We had heard about the amazing food and service here so were really excited to check it out. The space was very nice and I loved the high ceilings.Service was a bit slow to start but was amazing the rest of the night. The staff were really attentive, constantly coming around to refill water, take away finished plates and provide clean plates. The food was also very good. I had the spaghetti nero and my brother had the halibut. The seafood was plentiful in the spaghetti and I loved the sauce. The bison tartare and creamy spinach with cheese curds were also good and my brother loved his halibut.I really really wanted to try dessert but in all honesty... we were in Minneapolis for only two days so we were cramming in food places and this was practically our 5th meal of the day and we just didn't have the space for dessert even though I'd read really good things about them. They did give a box of some small treats though when we were finished eating. This would definitely be a great place for a special occasion and if I ever get a chance to come back, I'm starting with dessert.

One of the best meals I've had in a while. Couldn't decide between two pastas so I ordered them both. Started with the ravioli ($23) with celery root fonduta, matsutake mushroom, smoked hazelnut, pleasant ridge cheese, and brown butter, which was a great combination with a tasty filling. It was only topped by the ricotta cavatelli ($19) with preserved lemon yogurt, garlic scape, crispy chickpea, with the contrasting textures and balanced flavor profile. Finished the night with the toffee Butter Cake with golden raisin, pecan, pear sorbet, miso, which was not oversweet but could have used a bit more of the sorbet to match the rest of the dessert. Got to sit at the chef's table which was a fun experience, and one of the chefs slipped me a spare arrancini.
