Took a mid-week drive down to a couple of breweries I had never visited. The first being South X Southeast. They provide traditional styles, a great space both inside and out, and a very welcoming staff. I grabbed a flight and went outside to soak up sun and enjoy the beers.Lazy Day IPA:A Juicy New England IPA with medium citrus and medium-low bitterness. A hint of spice and a bit of sweetness from a lactose addition.Frontage Road Toasted Coconut:A Stout with toasted coconut additions - a variation on their standard Frontage Road Stout. Medium-high coconut and toasted nut flavors, low dark coffee bitterness, and hint of vanilla sweetness. Body on the lighter side which makes it possible to enjoy on a warm sunny day.Golden Coffee Ale:A Golden Ale with medium-high coffee bitterness, light black pepper, and mild nutty / floral finish. Very refreshing with strong coffee flavors in a lighter bodied beer without being astringent and my favorite of the four!Serendipity:A house made Ginger Beer sitting at 4.6% ABV. You don't see a Ginger Beer on tap very often so I had to grab it. This one had lemon and lime added, and they use it as a base for ginger beer based mixed drinks as well. This had a lighter ginger flavor with high carbonation. Would love to try it in a cocktail!______________________

I have been here somewhere around maybe eight or nine times in the two years they've been open. I feel this is such an underrated brewery, which baffles me because you can see it from 52...so WHY wouldn't you pop in?! EVERY time I have been in SxSE HITS the MARK!!! Good beer poured by friendly staff. Of all the beers I've had, none have been bad....none!! Today was the second time I asked a lovely brunette, aren't you the owner? "yes, I'm Ann." As we discussed the beers and I told her I met her brewer. She informed me "he's my son". The digs are spacious and comfortable. Parking is plenty and easy. I love that there's a poster hanging of ideas of different raddlers you can make! I honestly can't think of one area that needs improvement for this brewery!! THANKS South By Southeast for yet another, as per usual: delicious, fun and laughter filled visit!! Despite living in the cities, I am already looking forward to my next visit!! Cheers!

Great brewery with indoor and outdoor seating options. We visited while they were still very new and had just 6 beers to pick from. The variety was good to fit needs for any craft beer fan. We tried the IPA, amber, scotch, and stout. All were excellent choices for the styles. The stout (Frontage Road Stout) especially delicious, with a touch of peanut butter and very drinkable at 6.5% abv. They have crowlers and growlers to purchase for carry out The staff were friendly and consistent with wearing masks and ensuring a comfortable and safe experience for guests. A rotating food truck schedule provides food options (BBQ on the day of our visit) and snacks to purchase in the brewery. All around a great brewery worth the visit, just a short drive from Rochester area.

My wife and I stopped by South x Southeast brewery last summer to try some beer with our Indian takeout. There is a peaceful little stretch of pine trees and nature surrounding the brewery. Unfortunately, it's hard to not notice the cars racing by on the freeway. However, I do appreciate that they gave the location a try. There's not much else around it. It's a brewery by the freeway. The interior is nicely decorated. I can tell that it was done by someone who understood that, during the long Minnesota winters, everyone will drink the majority of the time indoors. Our beers were just ok. We should've gotten a flight to find the good ones. One benefit to drinking outside is that they give you tie dye designed South x SouthEast plastic mugs that I used for many weeks until my wife retired them.

The hardest thing about this brewery was finding the listing under Yelp. It is finally OPEN! We stopped in for a cold drink after visiting the Cheese Fest in Pine Island and a long bike ride on the Douglas State Trail. We had superior service (thank you ladies for all your information), and opted to drink indoors. The outside area looked inviting but I was just too hot from the outdoor Cheese Fest. Interesting brews, hoping to visit again soon.

This is such a fun place! The beer is seriously good, and the winter radlers are a treat. A mix of beer and craft soda makes a perfect treat. The vibe is laid back and cozy. Fire circles will be great as it gets colder.
