Oh my, this place is a treasure and a dump all at the same time. Sometimes known as Uncle Johns, Y Pines is kind of in the middle of nowhere on Moose Lake.It's owned by ex-Chicagoians, so expect Bears & Sox stuff all over. The staff is "up-north" friendly, which is to say they are incredibly nice. It's small, full of kitschy decor, the bathrooms are vintage 1950's and the drinks are CHEAP.If you are a fish fry fan, come here on Fridays but get in early as it packs up. They fry up all you can eat walleye or fried chicken for those who don't like fish. Again, the food is "up north" fabulous, which is to say delicious, greasy and inexpensive. The best is that dinners come with a "salad bar" which contains salads of the mayonnaise coleslaw kind but no actual SALAD.It wouldn't be a trip up north without a stop at Y Pines!

The food is good, and the drinks are strong. The jukebox material is a bit dated, but the staff is really friendly. They took the time to just sit and talk with the customers. Something that is really missing at times on the coasts. Had a great time...
